I just saw the Another Eye Glasses, which are being called "Matrix 3D Glasses" for some odd reason, at ebay online store for a company who makes Arcade Joysticks

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3024919790

Anyone get these?

They look sweet and I'm sure work well with the NVIDIA Driver.

No they don't. I've used them and they are terrible. Plus the manufacturer is basically out of business so no support.

Sadly, I bought a pair of these before reading this post. I can't get them to work -- does anyone have any recommendations on what drivers/files, etc. to try and get these things up and running before I return them?

For $49.00 you cant go wrong. They are actually better than the H3D. Look at the review on this site.

###so no support###

###I can't get them to work -- ###

Guys, these glasses have the best compatibility available on the market today. They will work with ANY stereo driver or native stereo software.

Problem is, sometimes there is no fitting driver.
This is all about VGA chipsets, operating systems and software. The glasses aren't part of the equation.

Just tell me your VGA-chipset and operating system and I'll tell you what the situation is.

Christoph,

Thanks for the offer to help!

I'm using Win XP Pro, and I have an Asus 128mb nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200-8X. I'm thinking it's a drivers issue...I just read there's been problems with the recent Detonator drivers and the last nVIDIA 3D Stereo software release. I'm a little confused about which version of each I should be using.

Is there a better alternative to nVIDIA's 3D software? Forgive me if this is a dumb question, I'm relatively new at this...

Cheers,

Chris

nVidia rulez.

Any 3x versions of Detonator require any 3x vers of Stereo drivers. 4x Det requires some 4x stereo version, that's all.

If you have the ASUS glasses also check

I followed your recommendations but unfortunately the problem still remains. I've checked the hardware and software set-ups carefully. The glasses simply do not respond :(

I'm wonderinging if they just sent me a busted pair. Hopefully they'll give me an exchange or a refund...

Anyway, thank you again for your help.

Best regards,

Chris

Chris,
I am using the AE eyewear for more than a year, and it works flawlessly in all three modes (page flipped, interlaced and sync double). I enjoy it very much, and recommend it without hesitation.
I cannot troubleshoot your problem of course, but try this: the miniplug that plugs into the eyewear needs sometimes be pushed real hard. I overlooked this the first time I connected the eyewear, and also was under the impression that it is not functioning.

EUREKA!

Itsik, that was it! It was the power connection...I'm going dizzy with all the 3D now ;)

Thank you everyone for your help!

Cheers,

Chris

I purchased a pair of these anxiously awaiting their arrival.. I've got my drivers all setup (had to downgrade from 53.03 down to the 45.23 to get the stereo modes working)..

Now just have to get the glasses in the mail!

Yeah, I hope NVidia release an update soon for the 5x drivers. I will have to downgrade also when I finally get some s/gs in a few weeks. Cool thing about the old stereo drivers though was I could try it out in anaglyph mode with some old coloured plastic I had lying around - I thought it would be rubbish, it was amazing - Broken sword 2, UT2k3 etc all just made my jaw drop with the 3d effect - even though the colours were completely ruined ;) - Am I too assume actual page flipping for proper glasses would be more demanding than simply displaying a red/green offset image (with no extra swap) - and that the frame rates I was getting with R/B may be less with shutter glasses?

Processing requirement I think will comes to about the same. While page flipping will swap the render image, but red/blue will have to add the left color element to the right image. However, the difference is that page flipping will require a higher refresh rate of the monitor than color glasses scheme, which limits the display resolution (higher res, lower refresh rate).

Note: People purchasing these glasses directly from XFORCE3D.COM do get 30 day return policy and 1 year warranty.

Although this is a buyout of the AEYE inventory, XFORCE is still supporting them.

Any comments, please let us know.

I too just purchased a pair of these.....I can't wait! I've been a gamer for years and never even heard of this stuff! Does it really bring things to life and make them pop off the screen? Has anyone tried Mechwarrior4, or BF 1942?

Thanks XForce3d!

I'm in the 3D thing since the days of H3D/Wicked3D and this shutter glasses/controller is the best/most comfortable I ever used. And the price of $49 is also very fair!

It works perfect in combination with the Nvidia 3D driver in all versions up to the actual 61.77 but supports all other 3D formats than page flipping as well!

Also the support and response time of XForce3D is really great. Shipping is fast too, it took 4 days to Germany.

Since this is a buyout of AEYE inventory I would encourage everyone looking for glasses to get one before the game is over.
