I have a Voodoo3 3000 card (I know, a problem) and "I-art Eye3D".
I was wondering if there is any way that I could make my voodoo work PageFlipping/Interlacing and not just at Sync Doubling (with the Wicked3D driver, which its quality is the worst)???

VRStandard (www.vrstandard.com) has announced that their next version of VRCaddy will support full-screen page-flipping on the VooDoo's. Since VRCaddy uses WINx3D (www.win3d.com) for page-flipping, you will be able to use your Eye3D's on the VooDoo, and get page-flipping.

Contact Jeff (info@vrstandard.com), if interested.

I thought it wasn't possible to do page flipping on a Voodoo card. I usually play my games at 1600x1200 which of course translates to 1600x600. Thanks for the heads up on those drivers.

It is possible. The Win3D company developed a solution that will enable full-screen page-flipping with VRCaddy on the 3Dfx cards. I haven't tried 1600x1200 (none of my monitors go that high). But it will not require that you sacrifice half of your vertical resolution.

OK, I've installed the Win3D, and I don't know what to do now.
Yes, I saw the whole thing, chose VOODOO & eye3d,
(and also tried just wicked3d) but when I'm trying to test it, it always tells me that I have an error:
"DirectDraw is unable to display the images.
Please try the desktop refresh rate".
So I changed the refresh rate, changed the resolution, and still nothing.
I really think that the best solution is to buy an old & cheap nvidia card (maybe G-Force256), and then I know that the "revelator" driver will work (and they also look much better than the wicked3d with my old voodoo3).

Help :-(

The VooDoo display driver does not like any other application to change the refresh rate. So, with WINx3D and a VooDoo, select the "Desktop" refresh rate. Do not select 72, 100, or any other Hz. Oh yeah, make sure that your monitor is defined (Start / Settings / Control Panel / Display / Advanced / Monitor) or the VooDoo drivers will not be nice. They may only make available the 640*480 resolutions.

Also, the full screen page-flipping with VRCaddy will be available on the next release of VRCaddy, as VRStandard has announced. Even with the new WINx3D, the present version of VRCaddy only supports interlaced on the VooDoo. This upgrade is very soon to be released, according to VRStandard.

BTW: I do agree that the best solution is to use the nVidia card. I find it to be a much superior card, stereoscopically speaking.

I have a voodoo 5 5500 agp, and the i-art eye 3d premium 4 in 1. I use wicked 3d driver, version 4.11 or 4.12.I use sync-doubling in all games. The other stereo modes are very bad for me, the screen stays flickering. The 4 in 1 also supports page-flipping, and i find it strange that someone recomends using this mode !
Do you think the vrcaddy have a better page-flipping support/quality ?

>>>The 4 in 1 also supports page-flipping,...

Yes, but only if you use some page-flipping software. Wicked3D doesn't support page-flipping.

You may give the WINx3D/VRCaddy combo a try.

Hi Christoph !

I have a voodoo 5 5500 agp card, and today went to the vrcaddy site, and saw some restrictions regarding vrcaddy and the v5.

They are:

" 3dfx cards(Voodoo3,4,5) issues

1 - Voodoo5 Single Chip Mode (Voodoo5 only)
If you have Dual chip Voodoo5, you have to set to "Single chip" mode. When "Dual chip" mode is enabled, your games show down with VRCaddyPro

2 - T-buffer
You should turn-off "Full Screen Antialiasing(T-buffer)" feature. If this feature is turned on(this is default), stereoscopic 3D effect will be destroyed. To turn off this feature:

3 - Glide
Some games like Need for Speed, supports "Glide" as well as "Direct3D". VRCaddyPro does not supports "Glide" rendering option. You should select "Direct3D" option for VRCaddyPro. However, some games select "Glide" automatically and do not allow you to select "Direct3D" option. In this case, you should do some preperation before you install those games."

I didnt like that restrictions. I understand that the advantage of page-flipping over sync-doubling is that in page-flipping you can use your total refresh rate, and not half, so the card has to work much less and the game becomes faster, but with the restrictions, especially the first, "only use single-chip", the game will become slower also.

I use sync-doubling in all my games, and dont have speed problems in any one of them, except Klingon Academy, and i dont know why this exception exists.

I dont know, maybe i will get vrcaddy, still havent decided.

Thanks for the help and attencion.

Is anyone here using vrcaddy with the v5 ?
If so, what is your opinion ?

also, i have wicked 3d, and if i install vrcaddy, how do i "say" to the glasses that i want it to use vrcaddy ?

Maybe X-mas stress ;-) With 'Wicked3D' gamer_xyz means the drivers, probably unaware that, back in the GOod OLd DAys, Wicked3D also sold their own glasses and controller.
From my experience, better not have both Wicked3D and VRCaddy installed at the same time - that's fishing for trouble.

By pushing the big button on the Premium controller. Also make shure the right-left orientation is correct by pushing the smaller reverse-button.

Yes, but in theory it could work to have both installed, but only one of them activated.
Not recommended though.
