I have a pair of wired eDimensional glasses, which work fine with my desktop computer. A few days ago I wanted to try them with my laptop (made by ASUS, its video card is a GeForce Go 6200), so I connected the dongle to the VGA-out port of the laptop, and the VGA plug of the CRT (the same one I use with the desktop system) to the other end of the dongle.
When I switched the laptop on, the CRT remained black (it worked correctly without the dongle, I had configured it as a screen clone). I tried to see what was wrong, in the screen properties: the laptop did not see the CRT *at all*.
I switched everything off and connected the CRT directly to the laptop, without the dongle: it was correctly seen by the laptop and worked fine.
I switched everything off again and reconnected the dongle and the CRT to the desktop computer. Everything was working fine, as was always the case with the desktop computer.

My questions:
1) why does the CRT act as if it was disconnected, if it is connected to the laptop through the dongle?
2) I want to buy a Z800 visor, SPECIFICALLY to use its stereo3D capabilities with the laptop. Will it work, or will the same thing happen (no signals sent nor received)?

Hi, visit www.3dforgames.com, I have Toshiba notebook with nVidia GeForce MX 440 and they send me a cable with an AC adaptor and I use an external CRT monitor and my 3D glasses works perfect. Also can be a driver problem. They also distribute their own brand of 3D PC gaming glasses.
