My old GeForce burned out due to bad fan, and I replaced it with a GeForce4 MX and installed the latest official drivers and stereo driver.
When I enabled stereo, it doesn't work: the card will not start page flipping! The medical test image just shows the two side by side, and the test application (and games) are not in stereo. WTF?

Please note that the latest version of the stereo driver (45.23) does not work with the latest nVidia display driver (52.16), only with 45.23. The version numbers of the stereo driver and display driver you install should always be the same.

Surely there's got to be a way to trick the stereo driver to work with the newer display driver. Any hackers around here?

52.16's offer no advantage to the GF4 family - expecially an MX.

Not even the 45.23's.
For best stereo performance and compatability, try the 30.87/30.87 combo. For a GF4, these drivers will work much better in stereo than any current release.

Is it possible to easily change back and forth display drivers?

Depends on what you call "easy"... In any case you can't do it in a few seconds - you'll have to uninstall the current driver, reboot, install the new driver and reboot again.
