Sandworm has written the following on Stereovision Forum:
I have the ASUS V8460 Ultra/Deluxe. It came with 3D glasses and has it's own connector for the glasses on the card. I found out that when using NVIDIA drivers on an ASUS card the card will only drive the glasses if you have the CRT attached to the digital output using the adapter cable (digital to 15 Pin) provided with the card. If I use ASUS provided drivers the glasses will shutter with the CRT attached to either head connector. I'm presently using the 41.09 NVIDIA drivers with the hacked version of the 30.87 stereo driver and stereo works.(Sandworm).

Wow, this is huge.

I have ASUS glasses and I've been waiting for ASUS to come up with a utility activating the glasses without the ASUS driver. If what you say is true I don't need it. Please, please provide some details, i.e., what's your OS, hardware, etc.

Thanks,
Serge.

Bad news: On XP Pro with 41.09 and nVidia_3dstereo_ru_2 => No stereo (weird screen) but glasses (VR100) are flashing at correct rate.(i tested several values for StereoViewerType...)
I'll give them a try with official 3DStereo and then with det_30.87/Stereo_30.87

First I put the CRT attached to the digital output using the adapter cable (digital to 15 Pin) provided with the card, then I installed the 41.09 drivers and the nVidia_3dstereo_ru_2 driver. The glasses are now flashing and I can play games in 3D.

My system:
Asus 8420 Deluxe with VR100
AMD XP 1800+
SB!Live
Win XP Pro SP1
...

Excuse my poor english because I am a French man.

Thanks, i was also able to get it working. I just forgot to switch stereo off before changing the StereoViewerType value in registry to 0.
So, if some of you have StereoViewerType set at 2: it does NOT work with new asus GF4 ! ! !
You just have to do the following:
1) Deactivate 3DStereo.
2) Set StereoViewerType at 2 with regedit
3) re-Activate 3DStereo in display settings.

...but it works BAD, i imagine the nVidia_3dstereo_ru_2 driver is still very buggy.
(getting lots of blue screens)

2) Set StereoViewerType at 0 with regedit
3) re-Activate 3DStereo in display settings.

Don't use the nVidia_3dstereo_ru_2 driver, use the original nvidia 30.87 driver and the StereoCtrl application ( http://digilander.libero.it/giofx/engines/StereoCtrl.zip ), you won't have blue screens any longer.
