I have a Sony DCR-PC110E and it seems not to work with the Nu-View. During recording, the picture on the LCD of the camera "vibrates" properly (maybe this is not the right English term, but I hope you understand what I mean). While capturing the to the PC through firewire it still vibrates on the LCD panel of the camera, but the preview on the PC screen does not. The resulted AVI does not vibrate either. This seems tpo me that the DV capture through the firewire cancels(deinterlaces?)the stereo. What is the problem, my camera is not apprpriate for Nu-view? Anobody out there is using this camera for Stereo 3D?

Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed. 8.1 or above.

Check to see what version of DirectX is installed by clicking on START, RUN. Then typing DXDIAG

If less than 8.1 you need to download it from Microsoft website.

IMO It's very unlikely that DV Firewire would deinterlace.

Try this too:
Open the DV AVI file in Windows Media Player, Select File - Properties on the menu. Then click on the Advanced tab and double click on 'DV Video Decoder'.

Make sure 'Decoding Resolution is set to FULL.

Also:
Do you get a double image on the PC screen? Have you tried sending the file back to camcorder to see if the LCD "vibrates" as before?

I have had a similar problem to you and it was solved by installing the latest DirectX drivers and setting the 'Decoding Resolution' to FULL.

Hope that helps,
Ged

Geb,
Many thanks. My DirectX is 8.1, I am using WinXP.
My Media player does not have the Advanced tab on 'DV Video Decoder'. , so I cannot check it. Yes, I have double image I am trying to send the file back to tape, but I have some problem, I will work it out. The other proof would be to watch it in stereo whether it works. I have Asus glasses and Nvidia drivers with stereo. What is the simplest way to watch the file in stereo. Should I first convert in another format or should be able to watch it in DV avi?

If your glasses are capable of 'line-blanking' (Pseudo-interlaced) then you can view the AVI files directly. Make sure you view them at 100% size.

BTW, My method of checking if the 'DV Video Decoder' is set to 'Full' was for Win98. Sorry I can't help with XP.

George, have you joined the 3DTV group, I recommend it? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/3dtv/

Discuss 3d video and webcasting, and enjoy or share amateur 3d videos. Teach us or learn about 3d video techniques, animation, compression for web casting. Ask questions if you want to learn, give answers when you can teach.
