hi. my system: morgan 1000 mhz epox 8kha+ gf2 mx 200 i updated my bios. and installed the latest nvidia driver, 40.72, still i have the probem. any suggestions will be grealy appreciated. | ||

How about a bit more info? Exactly WHEN does it freeze? Games, bootup etc? Does pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del take you back to the desktop or do you have to reset? FibaOptix | ||

mostly while installing the game cossacks, i am using that game as test bench now ehe. no problem at booting. but other than that anytime it freezes, while surfing, listening to mp3, etc...presing ctrl-alt-del sometimes saves the situation but sometimes it requires reboot, thanks. | ||

MMmm, 2 things 2 check out for starters. 1) IRQ conflicts or sharing both are BAD!!! WinXP is notorious for assuming all cards can work on the same IRQ! If this is a problem, there's only one solution. let me know and I'll give ya step by step instructions to fix. 2) GPU overheating. try running system with the cover off your case and see if it makes a diference. Dude, you know how to set up a triple boot system and use linux, but can't find IRQ conflicts in windows???????? go - START - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - View - Resources By Type - Click on the plus sign next to IRQ. Look at your Sound Card, Video Card, Ethernet and any other media type card (TV Capture etc). What IRQ's they been assigned? Just had another look @ that Explorer error. You need to try this video card in another windows machine, I have a horrible feeling that there might be a physical fault. Probably wrong but let's eliminate that problem as well OK? ehe i am newbie for linux. i restored 98se from ghost backup so xp' s boot loader has gone now but i will reinstall xp too. things seems to be good now. i looked at 98se' s device manager and graphics adapter: irq 11 ethernet: irq 10 sound balster: irq 12 for all of these it says no conlict in the conflicting devices list. i will try he graphics card on another machine as you said. thanks so much.. | ||

yea, it did this again while updating windows. i had to restarted the machine and got the following message on the Dislay Properties window: drivers of this device are not installed correctly. and on the resources tab it says this device cannot find empty i/o boundaries. memory intervals 0000 0000 - 00ff ffff 0000 0000 - 07ff ffff 0000 0000 - 0000 ffff are the conflicting memory intervals. system card extension for aspi bios is using these intervals. is this system card for aspi an important thing? can i disable it from bios? | ||

Well, I got a pretty bad nVidia problem too, and unfortunately, I'm not too puter literate. But here's what's going on: I'm running xp, my card is geforce2 mx/mx 400 (1)lately, when I'm not doing anything spectacular, it will freeze (ctrl-alt-del won't do anything)show a quick Blue Screen then restart, it then offers an error report, blaming it on nVidia with the signature errors: szAppName : Drivers.Display szAppVer : 10DE0110B200000000 szModName : nv4_disp.dll szModVer : 6.13.10.3087 Offset : EB1C06EA (2) (This is the good one) More often than not, when, say, going to any folder or subfolder, it will freeze up again. In task Manager,100% of my computer is being used; explorer.exe goes at 99-100%; and the folder, as a task, is "not resoponding". I downloaded the latest driver from the nVidia site, and that doesn't help. Please Help. This is driving me nuts! | ||

off...my card has totally gone. it' s not opening now. i tried it on 3 different machines. system is starting, no beeeps from the mobo but no display. i used it only one year. |
