Hi, I have a Nvidia quadro FX 1100 card with 3 pole DIN stereo output. I borrowed a pair of ASUS shutter glasses which have a 3.5mm stereo jack. Does anyone knows how to wire from jack to DIN. I did connect my oscilloscope to the card and found a 5V, GND and square wave of half the refresh rate but only after I had open GL software immage on my screen. By the way: Should I stay with the ASUS glasses or are there much better ones (ie with din connector) | ||

You will need to build some interface circuit to convert the DIN3 square wave to a signal that can drive the glasses, as described in the top three rows of the homebrew page : http://www.stereo3d.com/homebrew.htm Sadly enough, none of the links there is working any more.. :-( There's even some circular reference, since Tomi Engdahl's new site (http://www.epanorama.net) prefers to link to this site instead.. You can still find some circuit at http://www.ee.washington.edu/conselec/CE/sp95reports/mortenso/project.htm I you live in Europe, it may be cheaper and easier to look for ELSA Revelator glasses at http://www.ebay.de | ||

I stronlgy suggest to use profesional LCD glasses (both DIN connector and better image quality) ... Try NuVision 60 GX ... | ||

Hi, I am the Anonymous (Jan) who a asked the question. After doing some more searching, tell me, am I correct ? I found 3 possible 3D glases. 1* 60GX by NuVision 2* ELSA Revelator wired and wireless 3* CrystalEyes 3 (to expensive $750.00) There is also a chrystal Eyes2 but not found on there web site. But to work with my FX1100 It has to have a: VESA-3 miniDIN-3 connector. But what makes the image quality better for the NuVision LCD size or ??? and in what price range falls the NuVision 60GX | ||

Hi I have bought NuVision 60 GX for about 250 USD or so if I remeber O.K. . Just now we use about 4 one at the Univ. where I work ... Comparison with Relevators (and most consumer level glasses) : 1) They works 100% reliable (Relevator worsk occasionaly) 2) Better LCD pane contras ratio (you do not see dimm screen as with most consumer level glasses) 3) Better field of view. 4) Better sync (you do not see left image in top part of right and similar things) ... 5) No black bars on top and bottom of the image ... 6) Possiblity to buy an NSR box giving compatiblity with graphic cards without DIN-3 connector. If you will one time comapre any pro glasses (The Stereogrpahic model is good as well) with the consumer product head to head you will see how crapy things alre soled to normal people ... (I have almost all consumer level glasses availabe on the market in my collection ready for testing) .... But if you want to use the glasses only for occasional fun buy enything you want ... |
