Hello everybody,
On a trip to Tokyo last month I bought a pair of LCD shutter glasses for only 680 yen (about $5 something US) New in the box. Even comes with a VGA pass through cable and card.
Problem, all the info for it says that it can only be used with an I-O Data GA-TNT32/PCI video card. Can't find one at all. Not even while I was in Tokyo.
Any hints on how to get this thing to work? I take stereo pictures with my camera and would love to be able to view them on my computer.
Will generic programs work with this? Any clues? I'm not even sure where to start.
Thanks.

Would be the easiest if you'd post a photo of the glasses and all the parts which came with it. So we could determine to which familiy of glasses it belongs.

I have posted pictures of the glasses in question here:

Is this any help? I can add better pictures of the PCB if need be.

The controller card layout is identical with the ASUS VR100. Just the DIN-3 connector and the second VGA-connector are missing to save 7.5 cents or something.

If it behaves like the ASUS card it doesn't require a trigger to work. The glasses should be always flickering in sync to the VGA-signal.

If you have an ASUS board you can use the ASUS drivers of course.

You can also try WINx3D and VRCaddy from http://www.vrcaddy.com/

When using the nVidia reference stereo driver from http://www.nvidia.com/ you'll have the problem that there is no control for stereo-orientation, so half of the time you'll be in reverse. Only chance would be to hit the stereo-on-off hotkey as long as you catch the right orientation. The same applies for the old Revelator driver.

You can't use the Wicked3D drivers since they require a sync-doubler which this controller doesn't seem to have.

The glasses itself look like a certain APEC model. This makes sense, since APEC is the glasses & glasses-controller supplier of ASUS.

I haven't seen this particular package before. Would you allow me to use some of the pictures here on stereo3d.com ?

By the way, you can check out the ASUS version of the controller here:

###I take stereo pictures with my camera and would love to be able to view them on my computer.###

Just put the two images together side-by-side. Save them as JPEG and rename them to *.JPS

The ASUS, nVidia and Revelator drivers come with a JPS-viewer. On the WINx3D-driver page at http://www.win3d.com/ you'll also find a fitting viewer.

Thanks for all the information. Feel free to use the images, if there is a by-line just send them to www.teamdroid.com (have to get hits somehow. :) )
Looks like they work with my VooDoo 2 card, but not the built in SIS video in my faster system. I'll play around with the software and the .jps images. Thanks once again.
If anyone is in Japan and wants one of these I bought mine at a Softmap computer store (in the Yokohama station area). Might still be some around.
