Hi everyone. I'm trying to come up with the name of a movie that came out I'm guessing between 1976 and 1978. It was a sci-fi flick, very low budget, and the title was something like "The Incredible Space Invasion" or "The Amazing Invasion of Earth". I'm pretty sure "Invasion" and an adjective were in the title, lol. The movie, as I remember it, was about a small town (possibly in Texas?) that one day gets an invisible bubble force-field placed around it. The protagonist of the movie is a teenager, armed with a .45 auto. The townsfolk have disappeared: this kid is practically the ONLY person in the movie. He spends his time trying to investigate the mystery of the invasion, and attempting to get out of the bubble surrounding his town. The invaders are, well, all I remember are things that look like VW bugs covered in fur. And their innards are occasionally shown, which look like greenish jello and pingpong balls. The movie was in 3D, but the glasses weren't red/green or red/blue: both lenses were grey, like sunglasses. And they were made of PLASTIC (not paper and cellophane). I've sought the title (and history) of this movies for a long time, without success. In the early to mid 70s, there were a number of semi-low-budget movies which would sort of tour the South, hitting various cities for a "limited engagement": usually sensationalized flicks about UFOs, Bigfoot, Noah's Ark, the Boggy Creek Monster (lol), etc etc, and this movie I'm trying to figure out is one of them. Does ANYONE have any idea of what the name of this 3D movie was? Let me know if so, thanks in advance, and take care :-)

Kinda sounds like 'Fantastic Invasion of Planet Earth' aka 'The Bubble' but the aliens were never seen and nobody in film has a .45.
The film was originally released as 'The Bubble' in the mid-60s but was later re-edited and re-released as 'Fantastic Invasion' in the early 70's.
Rhino video put out a red/blue anaglyph version (as 'The Bubble')on DVD but the film was shown in the polarized (grey glasses) process in theatres. Hope that helps.

Bummer. Yeah, I should have mentioned that it was not "The Bubble", though it sounds just a bit like it, description-wise (from prior research on my part). Many thanks for the suggestion, though :-) The flick I'm trying to figure out could well have ripped off "The Bubble" somewhat (now that I think of it, I don't think it's the aliens that have jello-and-pingpong-ball-guts, but rather a MACHINE of theirs, which the kid in the movie manages to destroy by shooting it with his .45 a few times) So yes, the aliens may not have been seen in this flick either (further "Bubble" rip-offage on the director's part?) I'm fairly knowledgeable about movies, though, and my impression is that it really had a mid-70s feel to it (which also makes me think that it was not "The Bubble" misremembered on my part, having been made in the mid sixties I think). At any rate, hopefully someone will remember this weird cheap movie and can let me know the name of it. Again, thanks for the suggestion though and take care :-)
