Well, yes, I think ANY system that supports dual projection can do that. In my dual projection, I do things a bit differently. I have an nVidia GT240 which can do 2 desktop displays at a time. It has 3 outputs, but can only output to two different desktop displays at one time. Since any computer DVI really is 'dual' DVI, just buy an inexpensive DVI splitter; both of the DVI's are the same signal without degridation. You 'second' desktop will be the other projector. Your 'non-projected' monitor gets 1/2 a DVI; with an identical 'projected' signal from the same desktop display. The other desktop display goes to the other monitor.

You set up using the little monitor (the same as one projector) with the other being independent.

If you insist on a high-end card with 3 (or 4) displays or a SLI pair of displays, you can pick which two displays get projector. The advantage is that no one can see your desktop.

hi,

Thanks. I have an nVidia 7200 with 1 VGA, 1 DVI where I have put DVI-VGA Adapter. Now I have 2 VGA Output

Can this config be used to get 3 Outputs - 2 For Projectors and 1 Terminal for Software controlling? Can the Motherboard VGA be used to act as 3rd Output or a 2nd Graphics can be installed to act as 3rd Output?

If DVI Splitter is used then the outputs would be shown on both Projector and Monitor!. I wish no one to see the desktop through projector.

I wish to use the 3dtv Stereoscopic Software to project dual projection. Is there any way where I control the terminal on my monitor and when I press play I get the outputs to the desired Dual Projection without revealing the desktop to the viewer.?

Please guide in details.

Most motherboard VGA's are disabled by the BIOS when the video card is put in.

You can get a DVI to dual VGA on eBay for $4 that will give a terminal the same view as one projector. That's the easiest way. You could set up some sort of blanking of the projectors; my projectors use a remote with 'blanking' so no one has to see what I am doing.

If you don't want to do that, you have to add another video card that can use the same drivers as the nVidia 7200. I think anything after the 8800 will not use the same drivers, so it has to be 8800 or below. The 7200 will be marginal at best for a ripped blu-ray. There are a few other alternatives; a USB to VGA (very slow, but perhaps OK for a terminal), or a video card from someone other than nVidia so the driver will not try to match.

Remote blanking is a function of the particular projector. It may or may not be available depending on the projector.

If you use the second video card, the Windows desktop will let you select which device is connected to which output. You can use the 'identify' function from the nVidia driver to see which device is which.

A USB to VGA will also work on the Windows desktop. It will be too slow for anything but a terminal. I have not done it this way.

I have not bought Projector yet as I am waiting for suggestions from my other open thread about selecting projector.

Do the BenQ MP515 supports the Remote Blanking? Would this projector be good for Linear Polarize Projection? Please suggest with both flaws on using it.

I would be buying a 2nd same nVdia card and try it.

Also I would try the USB to VGA option as I would only use it as Terminal.

Thanks all for the suggestion and waiting for the projector selection suggestion

Hi I think the most simplier way is use of analog Matrox Dual head2Go adapters. Is is as hardware emulated 2048x768 display with 2 otputs of each 1024x768 (R and L half). This can by conected to one VGA output as 1 display and in 2. display it is second monitor. Or you can use 2VGA otputs for each PJ and one is with VGA splitter diwided to two PJ and monitor.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Using nVidia 7300GS Graphics card. Using the VGA Port & DVI-VGA Adapter for the Two VGA Output.

Have set CLONE Mode active and getting two Ouputs but when using Stereoscopic Player of 3dtv, getting message

"THE DUAL SCREEN VIEWING METHOD CANNOT BE USED BECAUSE ONLY ONE MONITOR IS AVAILABLE".

Please help in the above to get seperate Left & Right images on the Two VGA Outputs.

Deepak

NOT THE CLONE MODE! That will duplicate the output to the other screen. You want extended desktop!

Go do http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvply/index.html, and download the instruction file. Read the section on dual projectors, it's about 1/3 the way through.

Thanks Larry - that was a great help. I have read about using Dual Monitor in the help file of the Stereo Movie player.
btw - there is two way to get DUAL OUTPUT but which one would be better for better projection : SPAN MODE or DUALVIEW MODE?

I would now try to add a 3rd display as terminal in a few days as soon I get my hand on USB to VGA adapter.

Further is LED PROJECTOR or the new DLP BENQ MP515 good for 3d Polarize projection?

Hi Larry!.

I was going buy another 7300 card to addup 3rd Terminal as you mentioned the Graphics drivers should be same. I realised that Motherboard has only 1 PCI-E Slot which is already seated with 7300GS Grapbhics card.

So, I have only option to add USB to VGA adapter to make 3rd terminal for software controlling.

Please let know if there is any other alternative?

btw- There is two types of Linear Glasses available : 0/90 and 45/144 - Which one would be best for Dual DLP Projection?

There are nVidia based PCI (not express) cards that include the 8400GS and 6200, both of which will run the same nVida driver. Make sure you are getting a non-express PCI; I suggest eBay, but look at the picture to make sure it is not express. The USB to VGA is NOT fast enough to do other than the terminal, nor have I tried that combination.

Are you suggesting me to buy 8400GS (PCI-E) and 6200 (PCI) card as they both would share the same driver?

Or 8400GS available in both version : PCI(E) and PCI?

Would they run on WINXP Platform?

Further which Polarize Glasses should be tried : 0/90 or 45/144?

Graphics card with Dual Output solved. I am getting great help from Larry & Peter. Thanks.

1) Would like to know which full version software would be best for Dual Projection without having too much options of Output types. What codecs, software to use? Budget $100.

2) Is there anyway to autostart video in full screen for Dual Ouput when I click a icon without showing any menu, options, etc?

Stereoscopic Player can be run from the command line with all options available. Just setup a batch file which runs Stereoscopic Player with the movie and options you want. Double click on the batch file icon and you're up and running in dual mode.

StereoMovie Player is freeware:

http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvply/index.html

Stereoscopic Player is better, but please note: the single user pricing ($50 US) is NOT for a theater. If you do anything where a prophet is gained, even indirectly, the cost is 700 Euros! I have the program, but do not use it even on my absolutely free theater; I can't afford that sort of price!

The other two (that support dual projectors) are Tripple D (ddd.com) and IZ3d, although Roxio told me that it would eventually support dual projectors.

Again, the screen costs FAR MORE than the software, plus the projectors plus the computer! $5 to $7 per square foot!

With nVidia, the monitors are detected on boot. If both monitors are present at boot, you should be able to open the Windows display properties, and allow the desktop to go across the two monitors. If that works, than any of the programs listed should work on two monitors. NOTE: The nVidia Stereo driver does not support dual monitor stereo, the programs do.
