Hi,
Anyone know of a software method to switch the left/right views for shutter glasses via the Nvidia driver? Non pro glasses such as those from E-dim and x3d dont have a hardware switch, and the software switch they have dosnt work for pageflipped 3d.
(this is for use with the depthq)
Regards
Clyde

clyde:
There does not exist such a method. You must do this in HW way ...

For wired galsses make a dongle reverting the wires.

For glasses with DIN-3 based communication we (GALI-3D) had developed an eye switch electronic box (serving as source for 2 emmtors, detecting stereo signal presence, enhancing output power) ... The first productin serie is now udner testing ...

G3D_EyeSwitcher

The box will be comercialy availabe during 2 weeks ..

Hi

http://solo11.abac.com/edimensional/downloads/regreverse.zip

This is the file that edimensional recommend to use. Essentially you have to delete the parent key in your registry and then replace with this.

Not for the faint hearted.

Good luck

Hello Clyde,
Check out http://3DFlightsim.com to solve the problem. My site offers a solution for the parallax inversion problem and some tips on other big screen 3D issues.

Big projection screens can work with 3D glasses
and nVidia graphics cards!

Hi again. Just a test report on regreverse.zip

I downloaded "regreverse.zip" as shown above post and tested it. Good news/bad news.

Bad news: The registry change killed the IR transmitter on my glasses. I had to remove the changes to make the glasses work again. I don't want to blame the file - it could be a quirk in my system - but watch out! MAKE A BACKUP or your regestry first!

The good news: On XP all you have to do is double click on the regreverse.reg file and it automatically installs.

cheers -

We had just produced a fist series of G3D Eye switcher II. Image above. We had improved the electronic and mechanical design.
Functionalities:
- eye reverse with yellow LED indication
- stereo signal presence by red LED detection
- optional power stabilization from USB connector power source
- signal forking to 2 connectors
- works like 3 m cable extension as well

The price is 49 EUR + shipping and handling.
We will put it on our www.gali-3d.com web-shop soon. Just now you can E-mail me at husakm@gali-3d.com

I don't understand why don't use ED's R3D controller, works for me. We are talking about switching left and right images right?

Jesper: ED' R3D controler produce random sync. to V-blank. It does not support the precize sync. based on DCC signal.... So if you do not want to be forced to do L/R switching randomly until you get what you need, you need HW solution ...
Btw. ED buy the switching electronic from us ...

Ok, I understand. But what I do is only switch stereo on and off a couple of times and then it works. And when it works it works so I don't have to to that during any game. So for me it's a very cheap solution and with very little hassle.

Jesper: The synchrtonziation based on H-sync signal is genraly not very table and you will ofthen lose sync. after some time. And you will be forced to elaborate wiht the L/R signal adjustment again and again ... I belive that when you will try this in praxis, you will see this is not a solution ...

Hmm I guess I've been lucky. I can't remember when I had to "resync" within a game.
When I find the correct sync it stays there.
(knock on on wood, I guess :-)

Jasper: happy one :-). When I was testing this method, I was loosing syn. each time the game started and changed the desktop resolution and refresh rate ...

For who has a pair of wired e-dimensional glasses and a DLP-projector and need to put the glasses on upside down (reversed).
Reverse 1 and 2 on the 3.5 inch jack plug.
(This will probably work on other glasses, also manufactured by io display systems).

Have PB 6240, with this proj. los of sync is very very rare, absolutly no problem. The ev. desync create L/R color difference swap, no totally desync, stereo is OK. For my absolutly no problem. The scheme from Derk is OK, this is my solution too.

Hornet: if you use DCC for sync. and the HW modifed jack, you can not lose (theoreticaly) sync at all ...
I was speaking about sync. based on V-blank, this one is lost almost always. This is the situation when you use the color code (E'D R3D) contorler for resync. ...

You almost had me going there for awhile. Worked nicely in the test picture but not in games. Too bad.
