Hey eveyone, Ryan here. I'm new to this 3D world. I just purchased a sync switch along with 2 Canon A650IS digital cameras.

I need to syn the two cameras together, and I was advised to use the following method, but then I hit a roadbloack. Please help if you can.

I downloaded the SDM file located at:
http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/index.htm

The first problem I ran into was the camera did not have an "Update firmware" option, but I found that by creating a file named PS.FI2 the option would appear.

So I repower the camera, which includes all the files from the previous downloaded SDM file.

When I click on Update firmware, I get the ominous message,

Update File Error!!!

At that point I started looking into getting the CHDK to update, and that just led to many confusing and often outdated web sites.

Anyone with advice, please share. I am so anxious to start shooting. Possibly someone else has gone through this.

Peace,
Ryan
