I've been using the consumer versions of the nVidia 3D drivers for years. I have noticed before that they are listed as the CONSUMER 3D driver, even though they support Quadro FX level cards. Does this imply that there is a non-consumer 3D driver for Quadro FX level hardware? I don't mean a driver for some CAD system that is for a single program, I mean a real system level driver. If so, where would one find it?

I would call up/write to nVidia and ask them, it's usually best to just go ask the source.

Larry Elie:

nVidia's Quadro card drivers contain an intrinsic driver for OpenGL Stereo programs, so a specific separate 3D driver isn't needed, unless you want to run 3D DirectX programs (which the nVidia consumer 3D driver supports).
