I have been using the nVidia 91.xx drivers and stereo on a Asus V7100 Deluxe combo for months. The only problems I had were having to un-install the old drivers properly using Driver-Cleaner Pro, and using no higher than WDM 1.19. Those were the only problems until now. I don't use the twin view (actually Svideo/Video) output of the card much, and when I tried to I realized that this particular functionality was only supported by the genuine Asus drivers. Well, finding the latest (only?) XP drivers for the V7100 series was easy; it's the 56.55 driver. There are some older 4?.?? drivers for Windows 2000, but there isn't a stereo one I can find to match. Vola! The twin-view is back on and fine, but the closest stereo driver is 56.64, close but not a match. Appearantly it isn't close enough; although it runs, the stereo test application doesn't show stereo, either with the shutterglasses or even with the anaglyph ones. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure I EVER ran XP with twin-view and stereo both operating. I remember having lots of trouble with the right wdm driver. Updating the driver with one from nvidia gives me no twin view at all. I remember that gainward cards were very similar, but don't know if any driver there would fit. I tried some but not all the Windows 2000 combinations (Asus doesn't post ANY old stereo drivers!) but that didn't work. I'm not using this for gaming, so speed isn't an issue. Any suggestions? Or is the GeForce 2 series just too far out of date to persue?

OK, I guess I'll follow up on my own post. I found the answer many pages deep on the nVidia driver manual. It turns out they detect the impedence of the cable connected to the monitor the FIRST TIME the driver is run (saves time on re-boots I suppose) and I suppose I ran the 91.xx driver install without the twinview monitor connected. I ran it again it it all works properly, twinview, stereo, etc. I still don't know why I can't run WDM greater than 1.19, but I can live with that.
