wondering if anyone can help: If I try to open two uncompressed .avi files over around 150-170 GB each, the program just sits there--the two video streams do not appear and nothing happens. If I open a smaller uncompressed file (under 150 Gb), the program opens them fine....anyone know how to get around this--I don't want to compress my video streams so they can be openned in SMM, as that always makes the video MUCH darker/contrasty. This is a very frustrating problem! Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the specifics of Stereo Movie Maker, but you might try using Virtualdub (or its successor, Virtualdubmod) to split your huge file into smaller uncompressed segments.

You should be able to run these segments through Movie Maker, then rejoin them with Virtualdub.

the file cannot be larger than 2GB,
The VFW framework limit SMM was created with prevents stereo movie maker from using a file over 2GB. My guess the max length would be about 30-35 min of 1280 X 720p video.

the program opens larger files after all, it just has a limit on the size of each OUTPUTTED clip (2 Gb)...been working with hi-def video streams via SMM for some time now, although the program seems to throw them way out of sync if you play them right within the stereo movie maker...however, when outputting them to a hard drive, the streams stay in sync despite how out of sync they look when previewing in SMM.
