I am new to 3D technology, having just purchased some LCD shutter glasses and 3D videos.
Is it possible to purchase an adaptor/converter that will convert realtime 2D TV or video or DVD to 3D ??

In theory, yes, but you want to read

first. Practically, it looks as if you may as well put on some of those cardboard TV 'stereo glasses' that are distributed occasionally for '3D' TV shows.
