It is my greatest regret to inform the users of this forum that I will no longer be participating in the discussions on this board. I have become frustrated with the individuals that call me stupid, and my responses pointless.

Anonymous posters get away with murder, while those that wish to accomplish a goal are shunned.
People start arguments in the name of others, generally causing chaos in the threads, deterring any true progress in the field of VR. I see now that posting messages in these forums has become futile.

To those I have helped out, and those that have assisted me in my endeavors, I give a heart-felt thank you. You have helped me in ways I can never express well enough. I hope that, in some ways, I have done the same for you. Special thanks go out to VROne, Michal, Steve at IIS, and Christoph (one of the moderators here, thanks for putting up with my BS and respecting my rights to free speech)

I may continue to read the threads once in a while, but I will no longer participate, since more and more individuals (hence forth, referred to as "assholes") do not appreciate my opinion, and get hung up on syntax and grammar. So much for an open forum. These fine assholes, usually going by the name, Anonymous, have made the experience more trouble than it is worth. I have become frustrated from all the work, research, and typing I do to please the users of this board, making the entire effort seem pointless.

We will probably never see a real HMD, or consumer applications of VR in our lifetimes; The mentality of many users stand as a testament to this. The attitudes of the posters here are beyond redemption, and no argument will prove to me otherwise. While there are always exceptions to the rule, I have consigned myself to the opinion that the public, no matter how deserving, is not ready for true VR. I have also decided to keep my hardware developments private for the time being, Any future developments will be forwarded to the respectful parties that have already requested info on LUCID. Rest assured, those interested will stay informed.

This forum, in my opinion, is a lost cause and a waste of my precious time. It no longer serves it's purpose as a means of furthering the technology that drive stereoscopic imaging and creation of virtual worlds, and should be either totally redesigned, or put down like a lame horse.

No amount of information is worth all the crap that a person must put up with in this board. people are too busy typing a message before they read prior posts, or think for that matter. Too many ignorant assholes have taken root, And I for one have become frustrated to the point where I curse in almost every message I post, adding even more fuel to the fire. The stupidity around here has begun to rub off on me, and my ideas and work are suffering from this. While I would be more than willing to play nice, circumstances beyond my control have made this impossible; People are stuck on old-type, dinosaur ideas pertaining to the technology, and aren't interested in "Thinking outside the box", They just want to know "Where can I get a free copy of {insert product here}", or, "{product} is better than {another product}, {another product} is a piece of shit" (and they complain to me about cursing!?!)

So, in conclusion, I have had it. The narrow-minded protagonists in this forum have gotten their wish, they have driven the Evil, heartless, Eric L., scourge of the internet, from their forum. Congratulations, you have accomplished what only four other forums have managed to do: Make me sick to my stomach.

It's been real, and it's been fun, but it hasn't been real fun!

So long everyone! ^_^

Im sorry im not seeing these messages, im new to this board, but even the last thread you were speaking on did not have people calling you stupid or any names for that matter. And in reading it I hardly saw much tention, more so from you then the anonymous "virtual i-o" guy you were debating with.

http://www.stereo3d.com/discus/messages/21/486.html?986076136

Like I said though I have not been here that long to know everything, just the more recent threads I have been reading. Maybe there is worst things that happened to you with anonymous posters, but Im not seeing it, and I see a majority of anonymous posters that are being good participants and not abusing their anonymity.

What I would suggest is to just start talking on these forumns anonymously if it makes you feel better, and only post under your name when you have some official anouncement to make.

BTW you could post some links to examples of what you are talking about is wrong in these forumns. If what you say is true others may also want to leave, and that information would be helpful.

Ah, I found the thread you are refering to. That guy was being rude. He is talking as if any current HMD is ready for consumers. I think IIS products, sort of take off where io-display systems left off. I believe io-display systems, dropped their VGA product line and only support NTSC, and this follows that they also support more 3d videos. IIS fits the affordable VGA/SVGA part of the market, Sony fits the more expensive and high quality VGA/SVGA side. The poster seemed ignorant of that. The one product that seems like its going to be a threat to just about all companies is this one...

http://www.personaldisplay.com/english/f_whatis.html

But so far I have not heard about any retailers getting a hold of this and from what I understand its running late. I read some where on the net (a couple of months ago) from a guy who tried it and they said it was going to cost $800, but he also mentioned the delay, and that they may rise the price. The thing that the guy did not make clear is whether it would be $800 for NTSC, or if it was for VGA/SVGA. At that price i'm thinking NTSC, and VGA would be a lot more expensive.

The source of their technology comes from these guys...
http://www.microdisplay.com/
I've been watching them for a while.

Anway, you and I, and probably just about everyone here, knows that guy has no idea what he is talking about, dont let guys like that get in your way. By leaving, you are just doing what they want, you are just giving in to them.

Oh come on, don't let a few losers get to you.
It's simple, ignore the irrelevant bullshit and focus on what is good info and constructive discussion.

The Internet is all about sorting information, being able to throw out the 99,999 of useless info is the only way to function in the real and the cyber world...

Eric Lindstroms final post

Look, I don't mean to be a killjoy, but my decision is final. I've been through this sort of thing before in other forums, mostly newsgroups.

Example: AEGB (alt.binaries.emulators.gameboy)
AEGB used to be primarily a development forum. But over time, it has turned into a ROM dump. Nobody discusses coding techniques, hardware design, nothing like that anymore. Now, they're trying to dump the new GBA titles over there, and the console hasn't even been released yet! the AEGB FAQ clearly explain the rules of the group, but nobody follows them.

While I agree that no forum is ever 100% useless, the amount of effort that goes into posting here does not produce an equivalent net result anymore. In other words, I don't get nearly as much out of it for all that I try to contribute.

Many folks have voiced their opinion of me, and my posts. Considering nobody here truly knows me, they have no real right to be the all-knowing people they claim to be. Sure, some of my posts may not make sense to some, but what the hell do people want here? They ask a question, I respond, and they all reply to it like: "Oh, that's a bunch of BS, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about". To those people, you don't know me, so don't even go there. I don't like know-it alls, so I try not to tell people my experiences out of context. You want to know My experiences? Fine. I code for a living. I'm fluent in several operating systems, have experience with about five programming languages, as well as knowledge in HTML, VRML, Java, Perl, etc. I can read schematics, and know basic circuit design (thanks to my grandfather for teaching me how to do this)
I maintain databases durring the day, most running under Unix, Pick, or WinNT platforms. I've had submissions published in 2600, along with a ton of other crap I don't have the time to type. VR is a hobby for me, and one that I can apply my knowledge towards.

People never ask where my experience lies, yet, they all say "Christoph knows what he is talking about, and knows more than you." Bullshit! And I'm sure Christoph would agree, if he ever bothered to come down off of his high horse. Hell, He doesn't even quote me accurately, so how the hell am I supposed to get a fair deal around here? I've tried to be nice, and I've tried to be helpful, I've written and posted "How-to's" for people that wanted to know how to do something. I've stood up for myself when people talk shit, and somehow, I am the bad guy here. This is total BS, and the mighty god, Christoph, doesn't do a damn thing about troublemakers. Some admin.

My philosophy is this, If you think you know better, then fine, do it yourself! You don't need my help! I'm sick of trying to assist ignorant assholes that ask for the help in the first place, only to give me shit about the answers they get. This is not uncommon in online forums, only the bad ones. I still use many forums to this day, no problems, no BS, only quality discussions.

The only thing I know for sure about Christoph is he maintains this site, something I can do blinfolded. I'm not impressed, but then again, I wasn't looking to be impressed, or compare size or experience, that's not my bag. I only sought a gainful exchange of information; something which is lacking around here these days.

Notice EVERY response in this thread is by, well, no suprise, "Anonymous"! WTF guys? it's VR and Stereoscopic imaging! it's not kiddie porn! Why hide your identity? afraid Disney is gonna lock you up for conspiracy?!?

This forum has become a joke, and as I have stated earlier, I GIVE UP! I'm sick of the attitudes, I'm sick of the big heads, and I'm sick of all the talk about Christoph like he's a god (even if he isn't the source of it). Maybe it's unfair of me, Maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I don't give a damn anymore, because too many people around here have some serious growing up to do.

Thiat's it, I'm done! End of discussion.

Okay folks! The cat's out of the bag, now. This entire thread was merely a work; An elaborate set-up for an April Fools day joke. I'm not really leaving, rather, I was playing a prank on the admin and some other people. All in good fun; I got Christoph good! You'll have a chance to get me back next year!

VR is in my blood, it's a passion for me. Any fourum, no matter how crazed and hysterical at times, that can promote and nurture VR's technology is a must-have! and bumps in the road must be endured, if the technology is to flourish.

You really had me going, I was about to gently suggest Prozac and counseling. Anyways, way funny April fool's joke it made me laugh and anyday that happens is a good day. Cya
