PS3, Revolution, XBOX360, 3D Glasses, when?!

Ok everyone, I'm tired of being unable to play the games I want in TRUE 3D without waiting for a dumpy PC version, that may or may not be compatible, and requires super gaming upgrades and tweaks just to prevent hic-ups. I am also tired of seeing tech shows and web sites give away what they call “Ultimate Gaming Systems.” I’m sorry but if you don’t have a surround sound sensory body suit or chair, a head tracker, and a 3D Stereo huge 6+ foot screen or 3D Stereo LCD glasses, then YOU DON’T HAVE THE ULTIMATE GAMING SYSTEM! It doesn’t even come close because you would be missing the most important parts, the ones that make you feel like you are actually in the game.

I want play games like Halo 2, Quake, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, SoulCalibur III, NFS, GUN, Prince of Persia, Matrix, you name it, I want it, in TRUE 3D on the release date with no complications. 3D stereo has got to be put on the XBOX360, Revolution, or PS3. I've been waiting on it since the original Nintendo. If these companies won’t do it then we have to do it for them with mods/emulators or make an entirely new system that kicks total immersion for half the price of their expensive name brand equipment. These dinosaurs need to catch up with youth's needs.

It won’t cost these tycoons but a few more cents and a split second per unit to add a tiny software driver and stereo connector that makes VR dreams a reality. They could sell the glasses for tons and make a killing off of the world. They could sell 2 versions of every game, regular & 3D optimized, and makes twice the cash for their pocket change DVD discs. Gloves and motion tracking accessories would run wild putting bread and water on every foreign sweat shop workers plate. Even life-size images can be produced with a cheap fresnel lense from some rip-off ebay user. Mom and dad could skip the dream vacation in Maui and buy the VR Maui game for a fraction of the cost. Kids wouldn't even want to go out since they would never want to leave their friends in the VR. Most importantly, we would have our games how we like them when we want em.

Why are they waiting so long? What, our money isn’t good enough? Don’t they want us trapped in front of their system for all our entertainment needs and for work too if possible? The few of us in here have got to get the message out because no one has any idea what they are missing. People are fired up about the Nintendo revolution controller videos and kids dance around like idiots in front of there PS2 cams and on dance pads but imagine if you weren’t just stupidly hitting the open air but instead actually touching something that bulges out of your screen thanks to the cool new pelican wireless 3D stereo shades you just bought for half the price of the name brands. Aren’t they missing the whole point of imitative realism or is it me? There is both ton’s of fun and money to be made here people! What’s the hold up?

I think game companies, reviewers, and players have lost so much touch with reality that they don’t even know what the real world is like anymore. It is simple. We have 5 points to realism. They are called senses. Make one happy, well that’s fine but make them all happy then we want it and now for ten times what it cost you! We have two eyes for a reason; let’s use them both, eh? I want to play fun games doesn’t everyone? Or no, “let’s count sand”?! Wee!

Write every major game company and friend you have as soon as possible and explain to them that 3D stereo gaming will deliver the intense gaming experience for which they have been longing. Make every one call it “the next best thing to hit the shelves” to get them all watching, waiting, then riled up like me that they can't find it! On tomorrow’s front page of every new tech magazine I want to see Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft executives all sitting around their polished oval meeting tables wearing 3D LCD glasses next to a DepthQ / X3 with shutter glasses on the side jiggling in their vibro-VR-chairs and sounds slamming them from all sides. I don’t want to see the same as the last few years, article after article about MP3 players, digital cameras, and cell phones, or the latest excuse for a game console. Companies and consumers waste too much effort on small pieces of reality; VR needs to be #1. Let’s move forward for a change. It is what we all really want. 3D STEREO VR FORUM UNITE!

I have 3D glasses for my PC, and they work great, but I'd rather pay $400 for a trouble free game system than $3000 for a super gaming PC. Think of all the games you could buy with the $2600 difference. The splitfish PS2 EyeFX3D glasses are basically what hardcore gamers need but they aren't out till Jan 06 and only work with a few old or unpopular games. According to the reviews, they actually reach into the graphics chip and create the stereo effect like nVidia's drivers would. If they carry over to the PS3, start working with all the good games, LCD's, and projectors, then I'll buy at least 4 pair. Thanks Clyde, either way, I'll still buy one to check it out in January.

Hi all;

Yes, I have tried the SplitFish Playstation II glasses - I brought them from an eBay seller.

They seem to work pretty good on Ace Combat and Time Splitters - It is stereoscopic 3D, not fake offsets so the effect is excellent.
