I guess there is NO version of that sequence in FS. I only have the anaglyph version from the collector's box.

I'm currently in the process of converting the 3D section of Freddy's Dead into field sequential 3D. This is taking much longer than anticipated because (a) for some reason, the 2D DVD is taken from the right eye view rather than the left, which is much more common - this means that, rather than working with the green/blue colours, I am having to work with just red, therefore two thirds of the image information is missing; and (b) when doing these conversions, I check every scene change/camera angle to make sure that both images are still perfectly aligned. So far, I'm having to re-align on virtually every scene change/camera angle. To give you some idea, when I converted Amytiville 3, I had to re-align around 15 times throughout the whole movie - with Freddy's Dead I have already done 12 re-alignments and I've only completed around 2 minutes of footage!

There's no indication the Freddy's Dead 3-D finale will see an official field-sequential release anytime soon.

I've just finished processing up to the part where young Freddy thrusts the cut-throat razor out of the screen, at which point the 2D version switches from using the right eye view to using the left eye view - yet another complication! I have lost track of how many hours I've spent on it, but it's worth it, the completed section looks very good, I would say 10 times better than the anaglyph!

Oh yeah, and I've had to re-align the video 27 times now!

I've done about three quarters of the 3D section now. I've spent about 75 hours, in total, working on this. I should have the entire 3D section matched by the end of next week. However, I will then need to re-process the left eye view as I have noticed a little bit of retinal rivalry, so I'll reduce that as much as possible - won't be able to eliminate it totally as the left eye view is being taken from the red section of the anaglyph and, therefore all the blue and green is lost.

Just in case anyone's interested, what I am doing is loading the anaglyph into VirtualDub, using a filter to eliminate the right eye view (green & blue) so I am left with the left (red), converting that to greyscale, using resize and cropping to match it with the full colour right view, increasing colour saturation and intensity of the full colour right video to counteract the colour fade that occurs when you interlace colour & greyscale video. Eventually, what I am left with is interlaced video where the left eye sees a greyscale image and the right eye sees an intense colour image. The brain fuses the two together to see a 3D colour image. Of course, this isn't quite as good as using full colour for left and right. However, it is the next best thing and is FAR superior to anaglyph. My partner was stunned at the difference when we compared the two side by side.

If anyone wants a screenshot in .jps format, just e-mail me and I'll forward one on to you - it's not from the final version, I'm toying with transposing colour from the full colour video to the greyscale, with limited success so far.
