As a world premiere, the "Espace des Sciences" of Rennes, France, is showing a 3D movie shot with 8 cameras. The movie is part of an exhibition about gorillas. Displayed on a 40 inch glasses-free LCD Alioscopy screen, the gorillas appear to be right in front of the visitors, just as if they were in the animal park where the movie was shot.
The french Alioscopy autostereoscopic technology uses home made lenticulars on glass for high quality images and does not need any tracking device.
The Alioscopy 8 points of view system is designed for large audiences, allowing viewers to move freely and stand wherever they want to watch the content.
The film will be shown in Rennes until 30th July 05 and will then tour different places.

I've seen it. Perfectly clear, very confortable. There was a real crowd before the screen ! Maybe the best system I have ever seen, althouh the movie itself is not very interesting. At least, the gorillas really appear to be there. Without doubt, a new and important player in 3d.
