Warners blew it! They should have released POLAR EXPRESS on a thousand 3D screens, not 66! They are doing 14 times more per screen in 3D! Obviously IMAX can't materialize 1000 new theaters to do that,but there is a simple,low-cost way to do it with stunning results. It involves the simple conversion of the existing projectors in 1000 multi-cinemas to 6 rather than 4 perf pull down. We have such a projector as well as two production cameras and projection lenses. The system works great. Total cost per screen and kit is under $12,000...That's it! 1.85 to 1 looks very bright and sharp this way. There is frame sample on www.anachrome.com.
