Just a note for some 'new' technology. NEC has a 'Split Pixel' lenticular display (horizontally double-density pixel (HDDP)) that doesn't drop horizontal rezolution like the current '3D' photo phones. Initally it's a phone gizmo, but it does have application to real displays. Check our Electronic Engineering Times (probably the best high-tech publication for cutting edge work):
