I was looking on the Emagin site and found...

http://www.emagin.com/kitsale.htm

Which looks like a pretty much plug-and-play solution for a HMD. The only thing that is missing is an enclosure and the optics.

Not sure how much they are, but I emailed them for some pricing information. With the eternal wait for even an 800x600 display, it may be less trouble to just build a simple enclosure and optics yourself.

Thoughts?

Kits are generally priced much higher than what companies pay for them in large quantities. I think they do this to weed out the small customers (not speaking about emagin specifically, this is more general to microdisplay manufacturers) I can't remember what price we were quoted, but it was much more expensive than a finished consumer HMD made with the oleds would probably cost.
