Hi!

The new version 0.6.5 of Stereoscopic Player (a free versatile stereoscopic movie player) is available. The two most important new features are:

1) Live video: You can use any WDM or Video for Windows capture device to view videos without capturing them to harddisc before. If you use a DV video camera, you can control the tape drive using the buttons in Stereoscopic Player.

2) New command line parameters. For a reference see http://mitglied.lycos.de/stereo3d/cmdlineparams.htm

Of course I have also fixed a lots of bugs and made many other minor improvements.

You can download the player for free at http://mitglied.lycos.de/stereo3d

Peter,

Can your add to your program the feature of transforming in real time page-flipping (PF) image into anaglyph (A) image from 3DStereo DVDs running in DVD drive of PC ? As far as I know all exising players with PF-A transforming can handle with pure MPEG2 files only. In case of DVDs it is necessary to handle with VOB files.

Thanks,
Vasily Ezhov.

Hi!

The player already supports DVD playback. I have tested it with several IMAX 3D DVDs. You can use any of the supported viewing methods, including anaglyph. However, you have to install a third party DVD decoder. For example, older versions of PowerDVD 4 work (newer versions don't work). For more details, please read the hints on the homepage.

If you have troubles getting DVD playback to work, please contect me at pwimmer@gmx.at.
