Maybe it's old info, but some time ago in the newsletter I saw the message, that Sharp has developed the notebook with 2D/3D display. By switching the "3D-button" on the notebook you can transform 2D-display to show 3D. The notebook's name is Mebius PC-RD3D. You can find the info and photos about it at: http://pc.watch.impress.co.jp As you can see, the site is in Japanese. There is the "Search" on the top of it. We had discused this notebok futures on 3Dtv board ... Conclusion - it is almost for no use. Reasons: The build in GeForce card does not support profesional OpenGl stereoscopiv output = for no use for profesional application. The no-headtracking system restict user head montion very much = no use for games or movie watching. What the hell are the Sharp people doing, rleaseing maximaly cheap toy usable for nothing ? | ||

My, this "anonymous" gentleman sounds familiar? Nonetheless, I CAN'T make the mistake of purchasing it, I can't even afford to buy just the "3 year extended warranty plan"! I am very curious , do any of you know???? What is the orientation of the "color bars" that comprise each pixel of the LCD, is it the normal "3 vertical bars in a row equaling 1 square pixel?" While it is true that you need to keep your head in a relatively fixed position, this isn't as bad as it sounds. I found that after using the system for a couple of hours, it was fairly easy to train myself to keep my head still enough. There are always tradeoffs with 3D Stereo. You want no glasses, then you must keep your head still, simple as that. But the advantages are also enticing, laptop=portable 3D system, etc. | ||

StereoGamer: does it means that the Sharp notebook have an wrpaer for horizontaly interlaced stereoscopic game palyabck ? From the specification it does not looks like this ... Such wrpart exist only for OGL on Quadro. Or does the dispaly do the wrapping in HW ? | ||
