Dimension Technologies Inc. located on the web at www.dti3d.com and based in New York is in production now of an 18" LCD Autostereoscopic Monitor and will be in production in January 2001 of a 15" LCD Autostereoscopic Monitor. The 18" is currently priced at $8000 US and is intended for the scientific and CAD market and the 15" will be priced "attractively" for the consumer market - especially gamers. Although they would not state the intended price of the 15" specifically, when I mentioned that articles concerning their product listed the $1000 US range, I was lead to believe this was not far off. The screens also have inputs for 3d video support. Its gotten quite wonderful reviews from several magazines. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of these screens or any thoughts on the impact of their availability. The information about the availability of these monitors is not actually found on their website, but I called the company after reading about them and was given this information. | ||

I just went back to the site, and they have placed a new page that lists the prices as $6,999 for the 18" screen and $1,699 for the 15" screen with a $200 rebate. Unfortunately, its the $6,999 screen with the video inputs. | ||

From what I read at the site, video inputs to the monitor are available on the 15". Their literature states that there would be no ghosting because LCD screens are inherently ghost free. | ||

LCD 3D systems have their own ghosting problems. If you're not in the right viewing position or moving your head you'll see crosstalk (ghosting). Christoph | ||

i saw the DTI system it has a major flaw if you move at all you cant see the 3d. Sanyo has a autostereoscopic lcd display that has an eye tracking system. you can move and still see 3d but its $25000+ per unit. | ||

as far as I know even monitors from "Dimension Technologies Inc" need a tracker, so they are intended for single users. LCS glasses are still handier (and a lot cheaper!) | ||
