I would like to know other 3d fans' opinion about this new(?) site. Anybody knows how did they convert the 2D films into 3D?

This is work done by Another world. I recall seeing some of their work in the past. If I'm correct, they do a sort of "Ted Turner" approach to 3Dizing a film. Like the Ted Turner Colorization process which is partly manual, partly automated, is still labor intensive, however it comes out much better than the "automatic" 2D to 3D conversion stuff. Unfortunately the still shots and movie sample links are dead so I can't confirm this. Any chance you grabbed the content and can post somewhere?

Cheers.

The still images are manipulated manually. Some objects stick out, but they have no depth in themselfes. The faces of Yoda and Wedge come off of the background, but they are perfectly flat otherwise. The image of 3PO and Amidala in the desert is spooky. They cut her head off.

The movies are so bad in quality it's hard to judge the stereo quality, but I can't see much noteworthy stereo there. The usual motion parallax, some general fake parallax put on the whole image and some manually manipulated objects, like the shuttle in swsample2.avi .

In other words: it's crap, it's illegal (not authorized by LucasFilm) and it's off-line!

It's just as effective to use 3dplus or
X3d PC gateway, or Richard Scullion's upcoming
3dproducer trial at www.3dcombine.com
using a anything from s DVD or Divx for
private purposes. Then you have unlimited
fake 3d.
