Yes. It works ...
But:

On my Quadro FX 750 it does not cooperate with the DIN-3 connector ...

It is neccery to disable the standard OpenGl stereoscopy to make the Wrapped OpenGL stereoscopy work ...

The nVida StereoBLK sdk does not work with this drivers = Winx3D will not probably work as well ...

No still image viewer included ...

In order to get it to work with the onboard DIN connector you need to set the "StereoViewerType" (just search for it) in the registry to 0x000400c0. Then the DIN connector will be driven. Also the workstation stereo must be off.
Still image viewer is available from the main stereo control panel page.

I tested 45.23 with my G4Titanium128 on XP/SP1
but what i get was simply no pageflipping only
pure interlaced and WIN3D not working as well
in pageflip. Thats all crap. Shame on nVidia!
Why is there a VREX logo in the panel? Maybe
thats why it is crap - because VRex is maybe involved..? Detonator 44.71 works well with
Stereo drv 44.03 but of course not with Tomb6.
I hoped interlaced would die out but what i
must detect was hopefully not a wrong trend.

If your panel shows a VREX logo, it means you have a "StereoViewerType" setting for VREX interlaced mode. If you want page flipped stereo, then change this setting in the registry(just search for it) to 1(for DDC type page flipped stereo). Then you should see a picture of the Shutter glasses instead of the VREX logo.

Thanks Anonymous for the hint.
Ok i have tested 45.23 again.
Works ok in pf; win3d drv works
too and i found out that when
you change settings in nvstview
it may changed the registry value
for stereoviewertype. Thats why
i see again the vrex logo. After
correction in registry its ok
again.

Hmm the nvstview picture stereo
viewer of the stereo driver is
not so funny because slide show
functionality is crap and causes
trouble on my machine.

Instead use StereoPhotoMaker now
with direct nVidia Stereo support.
WIN3D drv never more neccessary.

You can download StereoPhotoMaker
(the best StereoPhoto program for
pageflipping now available!) from
my site: http://www.WOW3D.net too
there look into the NEWS section
and go to download the zip.

nVidia should contact the author
for integration of SPM into its
stereo driver setup. Then nVidia
is unbeatable.

Perfect !!!
Registry setting of
StereoViewerType to 0x000400c0 really activate the
DIN-3 on Quadro ...
And the stereo-viewer is there ...
But why does the StereoBLK SDK produce totaly corrputed image (tested under w2k) ? Any update available ?

Has anyone had any success using this driver with a quadro card? Which basic driver are you using? (There doesn't seem to be a 45.23 quadro basic driver)

samh:
This driver works perfectly with Quadro (my 750 XL).
All Quadro function including the workstation level stereosopy are functional.
If you want to use the stereo wrappers you must:

1) Disable the worstation OPenGL stereo quad buffering support (to make the wrappesrs compatioble with OpenGL)

2)Set "StereoViewerType" (just search for it) in the registry to 0x000400c0 (to activate the wrappers output to the DIN-3 connectror) ...

With the DIN-3 connector functional for both standard OpenGL stereoscopyc and the wrapped OpenGL/Direct3D stereoscopy the Quadro is probably the best stereo-capable card on the market ...

What basic driver version(the non-stereo component) are the quadro people using?

The nvidia stereoscopic.. I think its called the users guide - says that you must use the same version number basic driver and stereoscopic driver.

hello guys...
i am new here (from croatia), so dont be cruel to me :-)

i have an asus gf4 ti4400 deluxe, and have a problem...
as you all know, asus doestn make any drivers to support the 3d glasses, so i installed the new nvidia drivers 45.23 with stereo support, but:

on my glasses, one "eye" is full black, and the other is clear... nothing happening (with asus drivers 31.40 (just they worked fine) i sow fliping black from one eye to another..)

in the registry i changed stereo viewer type to 2 but then when i go to test mode, my comp stop responding..

so, i hope you understand me, and please help me....

thanks

Hook your monitor up to the DVI port using the adpater cable that came with your card. Your glasses should always shutter reguardless of the driver provider.

Hi

altough the 45.23 combo works very fine on my PC
I noticed strange behaviour in a few game

for example in "X2 - The Threat" demo the framerate drops at 50% (like stereo mode is active) if the stereo is "enable with hotkey" (but NOT currently in use) I must set "disabled" to play at 100% speed

maybe this can help someone

bye

The stereo driver version 45.23 does not support directX 9. Vertex and pixel shaders are not enabled in stereomode in Star Wars Galaxies. Depressing.

Hardware shaders (vertex, pixel or both - I don't know) are INCOMPATIBLE with stereo. Them are working but... result is absolutely flat. This fact have been already described at this and another forums. Slowness is not the main problem here.
Maybe in future this problem will be solved, but now ... disabling shaders or using software emulation seems to be the only solution :(

Do you have some theoretical explanation why vertex and pixels shaders do not work in stereo ?
I thing that after putting in the input the correct light/camera e.t.c. stereoscopicaly manipulated parameters any engine should produce correct results ...

Aig, what du u mean "result is absolutely flat"? What does that mean? Either the shaders work or not, or...? And where did u hear shaders are incompatible with stereo?

"Do you have some theoretical explanation why vertex and pixels shaders do not work in stereo?"

In theory shaders could be supported for stereo, but keep in mind that the Nvidia stereo driver is a hack, that is, it's an override on the game or app running. Thus, everything that the game does once, has to be done twice, with some fiddling of matrices. This is pretty straightforward for fixed pipe, but for programmable pipe it is much harder.

Cheers.

Hello!

>what du u mean "result is absolutely flat"? What does that mean?
>Either the shaders work or not, or...?
It means that when using universal stereodriver like NVidia's, Elsa's ..., if no hardware shaders used on scene, the scene looks three-dimensional. But if hardware shaders are used on any element of scene (object, surface ...), this element becomes looking flat and at screen depth - all stereo separation (on this object) disappears. Example - water in Morrowind: borders of water pool 3D, but water surface is flat and at monitor depth.

>where did u hear shaders are incompatible with stereo?
I didn't hear it anywhere, it's only my own opinion, resulting from my practise.

>Do you have some theoretical explanation why
>vertex and pixels shaders do not work in stereo?

I'm not a graphics programmer, so i may be wrong, but IMHO -
Program (with no any stereo in mind) forms 3d-scene and camera position (or 3d-scene from the camera position) and sends it to 3d API engine (Direct3D, OpenGL). Graphics card stereo driver intercepts this info, transforms one camera position into two and sends scene to the graphics card. The card renderes 2 scenes instead of one and we have stereo pair.
But while using shaders programmer (with no stereo in mind) writes direct code for graphics card and sends it directly to GPY, and he uses initial 3d-scene and camera position, not the one formed by stereo driver, of which he news nothing. And stereo driver can do nothing with that code.
So IMHO hardware shaders can be used in stereo, but programmer must take stereo in mind and write shader code using two cam. positions. Or maybe it's possible to use not initial transformation info (from program) but the one that is sent to card by driver.

It would be very interesting to hear if any programmer do such an experiment.

In point of fact, proof that shaders can be stereoized is found in looking at the successful implementation by the 56.56 drivers.

Games using Vertex shaders that work with NVIDIA 3D Stereo. Here is the list I have compiled so far. 21 games! Not bad...

FarCry
WWII - Pacific Heroes
Joan of Arc
V-Rally 3
Rebel Trucker
Chrome
Railroad Tycoon 3
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Ford Racing 2
Korea Forgotten Conflict
Halo
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004
Fair Strike
Lord of the Rings - War of the Ring
Knight Shift
Empires - Dawn of the Modern World
Indy Car Series
Colin McRae 3
Enter the Matrix
The Hulk
Fighter Ace

Cheers

anyone have any luck with the FX3400 (PCI-Express) card and the DIN connector?

The FX3000 (AGP), under the "additional opengl properties", Stereo Display mode has the option of "Use on-board DIN connector".

This option is not shown for the FX3400.

Using driver 61.76

I tried looking up the Registry entry posted earlier, but it does not exist.

Any ideas?

I'm using a Stereographics Zscreen 2000i.
