Next week a new IMAX theater was opend in Prague (Flora multifunctiona cinema areal) ...
They show 2 3D movies (Into the deep (underwater life) and Tyranosaurus Rex) ...
It was the first time I had seen IMAX (I had seen a lot of other stereo projection + I have a DLP stereo projecting system)
I was watching the "Into the deep" movie ...

Impression:
Good thing:
The polarization works O.K. No ghosting ...
The scene composition sellection was optimal for stereoscopy ...

Bad things:
The stereoscopic gemometry is horrible bad ..
They do not take care about eye strain and it looks like they decided to burn your brian instead of showing good stereoscopic movie ...
They brake the key rule of stereo projection -
no eye divergence. I guess they use up to 1 m
image separation and evrything is out of screen ... The result is partially non-watchable movie especialy from close distance ...
My freinds witch had seen some of good stereo-balanced projection agree that from this point of view IMAX is a mess ...
I can not catch how they can produce such horrible things ...
It looks like the IMAX people do not care whatever the people will return to the cinema again ...

I've seen 'Into the Deep' in Vienna and it was great, especially because of the out of the screen effects. People like to grab for things! That's what makes IMAX interesting for the mass. If everything would be behind the screen, it would have little depth, because the distance to the screen is quite large.

We must distinguish 'serious' stereoscopy from fun-stereoscopy with many out of the screen effect. Some people with stereoscopic experience don't like the way IMAX makes their films, but for entertainment, such effects are ok and since the maximum duration is 45 minutes I never got eye strain.

T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous (1998) is not a good film. The acting is Bad.
The writing is worse.is boring (Zzzzz).
Some 3D are good but very few scenes
