Anyone know if IIS will come out with an xbox version? Also how will it connect to the console? I hope it makes use of widescreen or hdtv support

I thought it was originally geared for the xbox. If you search the forum you will see reference to it. But plans change of course, so who knows. Unless we hear from them the safest statement is 'they are planning something'... :-)

The X-Viewer is supposed to be stereoscopic. The X-Box can't support stereoscopy. So I don't see the point.

The X-Box can't support stereoscopy? I don't think so. It has a geforce 3 in it so why not? Also, the x-viewer is in fact made for the x-box.
I have spoken to Steve over at IIS and that is confirmed info.

i have spoke to nvidia and they are not supporting any stereoscopy on xbox.
Sorry folk, but without the driver it s no good.
and yes the xbox have a geforce, but it s not design like a Pc.
me too i would love too, cause i love more xbox than pc ; but pc have it.
and after the time i have pass with the i-glasses 3d. i m am not so exited about the xviewer cause 800x600 is enough for me.
but if the confort is better, than it s better.
but the x-viewer is annonce scince 2000.
so maybe for my old days i will have it in 2050! lol see ya

###It has a geforce 3 in it so why not?

The hardware can produce stereo of course, but I don't see where the software should come from.

Hello All,

We are planning a couple of versions 1. Low res xbox compatible, non stereo. 2. PC version high res, stereo. I will crawl back under my desk as the bashers come out to respond.

I think the pc version will come with head tracking, but will the xbox version? Steve, i assume the xbox version will be 640x480? Head tracking would be awesome with fable on xbox! It would be a good marketing idea to have a port adapter from the xbox-viewer to the controller com port so people who have xbox live can make use of the mic. and won't have to wear the x-viewer and the xbox communicator.

I'm sure the pc stereoscopy software could be modified for xbox (you would need a mod chip though) mod software is pretty big on the net, they already have MS media player working on xbox. But a few modders would have to be interested in the x-viewer to make software for it.

i don t really think that a head tracker will be good for fable honest.
it s good for first person games and i think fable is third person.
and also people find the xbox live to expensive; imagine the x-viewer.
but it could be fun. lol

Hi All,

Trackers will be part of all of our gear, as they always have. No word on release date, we are trying to get some units done for the fall trade shows, but we have been busy with our other new products as well.
"a port adapter from the xbox-viewer to the controller com port so people who have xbox live can make use of the mic. and won't have to wear the x-viewer and the xbox communicator", interesting......

I know a specific date can't be given for a possible release, but what year can we expect to be able to buy an X-viewer?

The only way an xbox version can have stereo 3d is if the game developer puts the 3d drivers in their game's DVD. Xbox games load all their DX8 drivers and infact most of the OS from the disc, the only part they don't load is a small 1mb windows 2K kernel out of the bios. So it's literally impossible unless it works like that 2D->3D conversion software or the game developers support it.

HELP WANTED
I need a stereoscopy PLAYBACK software for WIN XP which can control twin projectors simultaneously.
Playback data can be AVI or MPEG. The software must allow for XGA (and VGA) projectors.
Please advice a way to find something.
