I'm a neewbie to 3D technology and SP so please excuse me...

I have the latest version of SP and when viewing 720p mkv H.264 files i'm getting an occasional flicker/jitter/shiver. its only a fraction of a second but it is noticeable and i'd like to see files run smooth all the way through. I managed to reduce the amount that it was occurring by removing the previous filter decoders and installing the recommended GPL MPEG-1/2 DirectShow Decoder. The video looks much better and does run much smoother however about once every 40 - 60secs the video seems to shiver ever so slightly and its quite off putting.
It only seems to do this when in full screen mode.

I'm using SP on an ACER ASPIRE 5920G laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0Ghz, 667MHz, 2MB l2 cache, 4GB RAM and an ATI Radeon HD3470 Graphic Card)
I'm displaying the 3D video on an OPTOMA EW536 3D Ready projector using the DLP Active Shutter glasses, which also runs through a DENNON AVR-1911 A/V receiver.
The files i'm playing are off my HDD, NOT on Disk and are 8Gb+ there in side by side format and i'm viewing them using the pageflipping option. I'v also set the output on grapic card to 1280 X 720 at 120Hz.

I'm fairly confident that its software related as i'v managed to improve the problem by about 60% by changing the filter decoders, it could be my laptop spec but then it runs 95% so well with minor flaws.
I love this program and really want to try and overcome this problem, i'm keen to hear your thoughts and ideas, thanks in advance :-)

I think I may have just solved my own problem, those of you experiencing the same issue see if this helps, I ticked the "Disable Multiprocessor Optomizations" Under Settings>>Advanced>>Trouble Shooting

I havn't fully tested it yet but so far it looks promising, I'm no longer losing any frames and Jitter(ms) has gone from 8-15+ to about 1-5.

If I dont post again assume this has solved the problem for now!!

I'm using the Cyberlink and ffdshow decoders.
I found that going into the settings menu, advanced options, troubleshooting there's an option called disable multiprocessor optimisations.
Try ticking that and see if you get any difference.
I assumed my laptop wasn't a high enough spec so i'm in the process of upgrading now and will let you know how i get on with my new high performance build.
If you happen to solve the problem or my method works let me know, else i'll try and help some more.

Thanks for your responce dan.The thing is that i have made all theese optimisations you have suggested but i have the same results.i think that pc hardware is ok for me so the decoders must be the key to that solution.I also have tryied many decoders with the same results. So a 3d enthousiast have suggested that hard dick may cause this problem i use seagate, he said that western digital may fix this problem because we have same hardware exept that he use we. dig. hard disc.I am having this same problem with all files no matter size from 1920x1080p to 742x480p.

That's very interesting because I use a seagate external hard drive that I use!! But having said that iv tried transferring movie files onto the C: drive and I had the same result.
What have u set ur graphic card output at i.e 120Hz - 60Hz? And what are u displaying ur 3d films on?

Of cource 120 Hz, with acer H5360 vga cable to edimensional glasses with a dongle they provide. The thing is that has nothing to do cause i get this problem even with my lcd screen (without glasses, dongle) so the problem is either codecs nor hard disc. You are saying you are using as c: drive a western digital ?

I have no idea what my C: drive make is, its just the standard hard drive that came in my acer laptop. i dont see how a different make in drive could cause the problem we are experiencing.
Try setting your graphic output to standard 60Hz, my setting used to be on 120Hz and i adjusted it, much to my surprise the image was still 3d and jitter did reduce a heck of a lot. I think this is because when the projector detects the 3d image its displayed in 120Hz by default.
How often would u say u experience this jitter, have you noticed any patterns as to when it does jitter. i.e if it jitters and then u play the same scene back will it jitter in the exact same place?

If i set it to 60 Hz then i cant watch 3d it has too many flikering its not working in my case.It jitters even if i have a still picture in full screen mode ,so on it doesnt do it in specific scenes.I have heard that if you select the output screen mode in contol panel to extended to 2 screens maybe this can work (havent tried this yet) i reed about it just now i hope this will work for you i will check it maybe tomorrow

Hmmm, well mine jitters proberly once every 60secs of watching, sounds like urs is much worse. I managed to reduce mine using the tips above but havnt managed to fix it 100%. I haven't used SP for a while tbh but when iv built this new pc which shud be no longer than a week I'll play around a bit further with it, I'm hoping it was jittering due to my spec. If u make any more progress let me know...

I've manage to minimazi this problem with this i put a dvi converter to dvi port of my video card and the vga to the lcd monitor so now the acer is recognized as primary screen. Now the jitter is minimum not even once in 60 sec but still noticable. For now i think this is all right for me after all the problem seems to be vga card related so i am only suggesting that you sould bye an ati card to your new pc unless you have nvidia glasses hope you ll make it to work 100% :-)

What decoders should i install in what field (every field) ... Please somebody help me...im running out of hope and the flicker is still all the time (every 1-3 seconds).
