I just bought Another Eye2000 and installed the "Another World VR Software" but I can't install "Metabyte Wicked 3D". When I click to install it a message pops up saying Welcome, Another Eye 2000 software and only gives me the option "Finish" when I click finish the setup starts but then a message pops up saying that windows NT was detected and gives me the option to go to Another Eye2000 support webpage or cancel installation. I don't know why it is saying this because I'm running windows XP. Of course the Another Eye2000 website is basically all in Korean and offers no support info in english. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to send these glasses back. I was so excited to use them. I hope somebody here can help me.

Guess that's because Metabyte is so long out of this business, or at least the included driver is so old that they haven't heard of WinXP up to then, so finding something that is not Win9x, it guesses that it must be NT. AFAIR they never came to release an XP driver, so if you don't have an NVidia card and can use the NVidia stereo driver, I'm afraid you're lost.

P.S.: about (lack of) drivers, see
http://stereo3d.com/gamebasics.htm#specs
and about Another Eye2000:
http://www.stereo3d.com/aeye2000.htm
(so, NVidia stereo driver should work fine)

I don't understand Andreas, are you saying it should work fine. I do have the stereo3d drivers for my nvidia card. They were included on the nvidia CD that came with the glasses (under the winXP folder) so why would they give me a CD with winXP drivers if the software can't run on XP. Anyways, I don't see how my glasses can work without running the software because I need to set them up or something. There are supposed to be all these calibrations and stuff I'm supposed to go through to install the glasses properly and I can't do any of that because wicked3d is what sets all that up.

i'd send them back and get glasses from a company that's still in business in case you have problems.

Repeat: Wicked3D is DEAD, it has ceased to exist, it is an ex-driver...
Just don't care to install it. You will not need any of its internal setups for the original NVidia driver anyway, which comes with its own setup. Just install the NVidia graphics and 3Dstereo you have found on your CD, probably
something like 'Win2kXP_3087.exe' (the display driver) and '3DStereo_3087.exe' (the 3D-Stereo driver). Note that the versions must match, so e.g. a 30.87 stereo driver will not work on a 45.x or 56.x display driver.
For the latest NVidia drivers, go to http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dstereo_56.72
and download the NVidia display drivers (install them first) and 3Dstereo drivers. If you have a slow connection, you may also find them on some magazine add-on CDs - probably still the version 56.64, but these should also do for a start.
You will find all 3D-stereo settings you need somewhere in the display control panel.

Okay, I installed the newest nvidia 3dstereo driver with it's compatible regular display driver. I go to display properties and then to my video card settings and turn on stereo mode but when it shows me this wierd picture of tiny boxes I don't see a big cube and a little cube like it says I'm supposed to see. I have I/O glasses selected which I guess is page flipped (my manual with my glasses says to select page flipped mode but this mode isn't available, only I/O glasses or red/green glasses are listed as available modes). What do I do? These glasses I have are supposed to be supported by my card. It says so right on the compatibility list. I have a Geforce 3 card

So Andreas, I've actually just done exactly as you said but when I try to turn on stereo mode and the little test picture comes up I don't see what I'm supposed to see. I've tried 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions, neither work. Tried both of them with the highest Hz available, 120 Hz for 800x600 and 100 Hz for 1024x768. The only descrepency I see in the setup instructions for nvidia drivers (which was included with my glasses) is that it says to select page flipped for stereo mode but page flipped isn't an available option. I bet it is with the older drivers but I think that the I/O glasses option is the same thing just with a different name. It shows a picture of glasses just like mine anyways... The Another Eye 2000 glasses are supposed to be supported by my Geforce 3 and the nvidia drivers. If that is a lie and I have to return them what glasses do you recommend that I get?

By the way, thanks for all the help Andreas. I really appreciate it.

Did you try the test app as well? Sometimes it's better than the medical image for figuring out configuration issues. Also, what exactly do you see with either? Specify with and without the glasses on.

I have tried out the test app and the medical test. For the medical image I see a box that is fuzzy looking, made up of tiny squares and sometimes I see a bit of a fuzzy "shaking" of the little boxes that make up the square. I see the same thing both with the glasses on and off only the image is darker with the glasses on because of the tint on the visors. As for the test app, I see a coridor and half way down the coridor it turns pink, then blue and an Nvidia logo moves back and forth down the corridor and then towards the screen while rotating. It is not 3D though and I see a kind of double image, both with the visors off and on. Again only difference is darkness with glasses on.

Sounds like your glasses aren't turned on. My wireless glasses have a small button on the side to activate them. Is there a switch or button of some sort on the EYE2000 system?

Just to make sure - you got the glasses reviewed by Christoph at http://www.stereo3d.com/aeye2000.htm ?
How are they connected; maybe the controller has got no supply power? Make sure that:
- dongle is plugged directly into VGA (15pin) output of the graphics card, no extension cable, no DVI/VGA converter on DVI output if you have one.
- the set should have a pass-through power cable for the PS/2 keyboard plug, have you tried to connect that?

The AE2000 support all known modes for shutterglasses and are controlled manually. They will work with any driver from the past, present and future.

The rest is a matter of compatibility between the other components: OS, VGA-board, VGA-driver, 3D-driver, game, etc.

Don't blame the glasses, replacing the glasses will not solve anything - unless the glasses are broken.

Hi, Use the new driver from EDimensinal, they even work with my Readeon 9800 and my lcd-monitor. They have only DX suport - no GL-games working.
Nolf 2 works fine, but the picture is very dark.
Playing around with gamma settings didn't helped mutch.

Good luck

Pat
