My I-O glasses TV viewing system seems to be NTSC only it won't sync PAL 3d tape recordings you close one eye and get alternating fields flickering sort of randomly but it works fine for NTSC 3d video. I put my 50Hz TV next to my computer and used Powerstrip to set my screen resolution to 720x576x50Hz (PAL) then switched on my PC H3D dongle so it's switching at 50Hz and the PAL 3d tape Egypt Gift of The Nile and the 3d looked great when the VCR was plugged directly in tothe TV but a horizontal line scrolls down the screen on the TV when viewed with h3d glasses due to no genlocked sync. My previous posted put down of PAL 3d TV seems to be unfair it was based on my experience with the I-O H3D TV Viewing system. I bought a Nuview adapter last year but foolishly opted to buy it without the TV Viewing system thinking I could use the I-O H3d TV Viewing system. I wonder how many have bought this and then bought a PAL 3d TV tape to be totally put off PAL 3d for ever and a day. Can anyone recommend a Wireless TV Viewing system that is truly suitable for viewing PAL 3d TV tapes? I connected my PAL VGA to TV scan converter and using Powerstrip to switch to 720x576x50Hz to output PAL field sequential using Nvidia pageflip and X3d TV Gateway and watch live 2d to 3d TV on my 50Hz TV. The flicker isn't as bad as I expected using the PC H3d Dongle with wireless glasses. Please share your experiences with PAL it aint half bad with the right equipment it seems. Is my I-O TV viewing system faulty or do others find the same? The PAL TV with glasses synched at 50Hz from the computer looks perfect 3d only slight worse flickering than NTSC. It seems I-O Glasses system is NTSC only but are their any systems that work for PAL and PAL has been consequently unsupported and given a bad name in 3d because no one makes a decent viewing system for it. | ||

Hi Both the old i-O H3D TV Viewing system, (the one with the mains power adapter), and the new version, (the one with the battery) should work fine with PAL tapes and the Nu-View. The new version has better sync detection so works a lot bit better with VCRs. I am not sure how you are doing the connections. To watch your tape on your TV are you just connecting the VCR directly to the TV Viewing system or are you trying to go from your VCR to your PC and then out to the TV? Michael Imago3D | ||

Thanks I have it correctly connected like you. I did a test of inputing a NTSC 3d SVCD slideshow to my 50/60Hz TV and fed a PAL TV signal as the only input to the I-O Systems sync box Looking through shutterglasses the TV looked perfect 3d except for the horizontal line moving down the screen so it appears the unit is stuck in NTSC mode It seems to be a faulty unit. With PAL you get a 3d-ish image but it alternates left right views and when you close one eye at a time you still get alternating left right views but it is all over the place not even close to being correct 3d. | ||

It appears my supplier for some reason hasn't received my emails so I-O systems forwarded my problem and they can replace the box in Australia at a very affordable price. Happy again. They even want the old box to see if it can be fixed. Hooray for i-O systems. When I get the replacement I'll find out if it works for PAL for sure. I'll let you know. | ||

I phoned the supplier and it appears my i-o systems sync box c3d III is NTSC only but that I need i-O systems new generation one which takes a nine volt battery to work with PAL. | ||

Good, I am pleased you have got a solution. It seemed a little strange, we are based in the UK and all the i-O TV viewing systems we have sold, including the older H3D (mains adapter type), have been compatible with both PAL and NTSC. The latest version, (9V battery type), definitely works with PAL. Michael imago3d | ||

Received the new 9V battery version it works in PAL and NTSC really great maybe my older mains one has has always been faulty but being out of warranty it's tough. Anyway I'm happy with the new one. |
