Hello!
I received my EDglasses 2 days ago, so far i only tried 4 games, UT, HL, Tomb Raider 5 and Sof.
I have a Riva TNT 2 M64, with 30.87 drivers (both stereo and normal), Win 2000

UT and TR work fine, HL and Sof dont have stereo

In UT, how can i activate the laser sight?

I always play Sof and HL in OpenGl, is it true that Riva Tnt doesnt support Stereo in OpenGl? Any fix to this?
If i play HL with Direct 3d the frame rate is terrible because the drivers are a bit old, but if i install the 40.xx drivers i lose the stereo control panel (at least i did, yesterday, with Win XP, i installed Win 200 to make the hotkeys to work).

Tkx to anyone who answers

you can use the 30.82 drivers. they're the last known drivers that are working without a need to 'hack' something.

just download the drivers from nvidias archive website and get the stereo panel from guru3d.com

UT came out after the drivers. In order to activate the laser sight you would have to edit the registry. The game profiles are under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/NVIDIA Corporation/Global/Stereo3D/Game Configs/
You just have to find it in there. If you can't figure out what folder it is then look under c:/nvstereo.log/, there will be a log file for it. Once you find the folder you have to add the REG_DWORD LaserSight and give it a value of 1. Yah, a pain in the butt I know. Someone needs to write a nice profile editor. Even then it might not work. It's possible you'll have to adjust the planes to get it in the right place. Anyway, hope that helps.

One more thing, your framerates are not bad because of the driver. Activating stereo will automatically cut your frame rates in half. The card has to render two images for each frame to generate the 3d effect. My suggestion would be to upgrade to a geforce 4, or even wait till February for the FX.

1. TRUE - no Stereo3D with a TNT(2) and OpenGL. Only fix : get a Geforce
2. A TNT2 sounds like your CPU isn't quite up-to-date either, so your framerate expectations shouldn't be too high - especially in stereo mode, for the reasons already mentioned.
3. The promised 25% performance gain with the 40.x drivers AFAIK is for newer cards (GF4) optimizations only - rumors are that the fastest TNT drivers are still 5.x or 6.x (which don't have stereo, OTOH)
