Hi,

I have problems with my revelator-glasses (wireless), which a friend of mine gave me. He didnt used them for a time, but they worked the last time he used them. I installed the newest nvidia detonator drivers (v 28.32) and 3D stereo drivers (v 23.11). My system: Diamond Viper V770 (TNT2, 32 MB), Creative SBLive 1024, AMD/VIA-Mainboard (DDR), Athlon XP 1600, Hauppauge WinTV, 265MB DDR-RAM, LG Flatron Monitor (800x600, 140Hz)

My glasses are flashing heavy if I want to look at stereoscopic-image. f I use the stereo-test-image of the nvidia driver the first few seconds I have a stereoscopic image and it looks fine. but after a few seconds, the glasses are only flashing -> no stereoscopic view anymore :((. Sometimes the stereoscopic view comes back...for a second or two.

Can this be a IRQ-conflict (read about this problem before)? Or is it something else? It would be great if someone is able to give me a hint.

Greetings,
Highmad

The usual suspect is the Creative SBLive card. You might try temporarily disabling it in your device manager. The other culprit is often gameport joysticks but not USB joysticks.

There are more esoteric critters but see if the above 2 are applicable to you first.

I tried the thing with the SBLive already, it didnt solve the problem. I deactivated the devices, which might cause the problem. But the flashing is still there. I tried so much, nothing works. It is really demotivating. Well, if you have any other hint, I would be very thankful.

I have the EXACT symptoms with my glasses. That is how I ended up here. Mine are not wireless. My glasses came with my new NVIDIA Geforce 4. With the glasses' instructions was this e-mail address : service@i-glasses.com. I wrote them and they told me it was an NVIDIA driver problem and that I am on a list to be notified when it is fixed. I also have a soundblaster live card and removed it when I heard about the problem, but that didn't work either. This is killing me because those few seconds that my glasses work in Unreal Tournament were impressive. I don't understand why these 2 companies would bundle these products with a problem like this. I'm still searching for a resolution just in case. Please post back if you find anything! - Tony

Hi,
I think I have the same problem with my new Elsa revelator: the LCD shutters close randomly, making any stereo effect impossible.

I tried different configurations, and it seems that it is my monitor (teco/relisys 796) that brings troubles. The glasses works flawlessly when I just change the monitor.

The effect is the same with NVidia stereo drivers 23.11 and beta 28.32. Perhaps your problem is the same ?

Does anyone know how to resolve this ?
Thanks in advance.

I've had that problem off and on for a few days now, ever since I bought a set of E-Dimensional shutter glasses. I first tried using the 23.11 drivers and then switched to 28.32, both with the same problem. My symptoms only start happening after a while of running, though. The glasses work fine for an hour or so, then they start acting squirrelly and flashing randomly. Sounds to me like some sort of memory leak in the drivers. A restart fixes the problem right away. BTW, I also have a SB Live audio card.

My problems are gone. It was due to a "DDC" option of the monitor. It seems that some monitors are working in DDC 1; it uses the pin 12 and 15 of the VGA cable. But those pins are used by the stereo glasses too.

So the solution I tried is to use a VGA/VGA cable with pin 12 and 15 removed between monitor VGA cable and glasses cable. This is explained at the Elsa faq:

http://www2.elsa.de/Internet/ElsaKnowhow.nsf/c8d90559b74679164125699b00590190/dfddfb16456583bb4125699d0051bb6e?OpenDocument

It works, but the DDC options are gone... I don't know what this DDC is and if it is useful, but anyway stereo glasses now works.

Hope this helps.

How to find out which is the DDC signal that my monitor uses?
