As a home project, I'm looking to find a VR viewer that I can use/modify for a normal video feed. the plan is to mount a mini video camera on a remote controlled car with a VR display for me. Obviously I want something cheap, and that's hard to find in the VR field. I was looking at the Virtual Boy system by Nintendo. Does anyone know if this can be modified to support a video feed? I only need monoscopic and B&W. Any imput would be great. I was thinking of something that could be done for <$100. Quality is not of great importance.

thanks

Most VR-helmets/HMD below $1000 have video-input-only anyway.
To find a <$100 system is almost impossible. You could try on ebay, but this stuff is usually much more expensive. Image quality is generally poor - even at $1000.

The Virtual Boy isn't suitable. It only produces red color and to develop a video-interface for it would be extremely demanding. Also it's not head-mountable.
