Got any more info on these ones? Are there others coming out soon? Siemens Global Pl@yer will take a long time to finish. Cy-Visor has been canned. I-Glasses SVGA has been delayed a few times but is on its way (don't like interlace which it uses) Tetratel XBox HMD? Someone mentioned that, any more info on it? |

LOL, yeah you caught us. We made it bigger and heavier though. We think there is really a big market for a 15KG, 26 degree FOV, SEGA compatible HMD. And it will be called the VFX4D. Glad to know we still have fans on here. Steve @ IIS. |

Steve @ IIS, Will your HMD be able to display 3D video in above/below format or with page flipping? |

I was joking you guys. We would have to be crazy to build an HMD for a platform like SEGA, maybe we'll only support LINUX apps as well. I can't believe you didn't freak out about the size of the unit! In answer to the 3D video question, no & yes. Currently we can do page flipping and line sequential. We are in development of new drivers that separate the tracking and stereo features. This way users will be able to install the tracking and then use our drivers for stereo or someone elses, without interfering with the tracking. I do not have a release date for the new unit yet, I can tell you it will be under $1000 US with tracking. We will not be delivering a $1000-1500 solution this fall. Being number one in that market is like being the worlds tallest dwarf and I have no interest in that. Steve @ IIS |

Steve@IIS, can you tell us anything else about the forth-coming product? Can't get enough of details. :-) I know that you have to consider the competition and all, but frankly, it doesn't look aggresive enough to give you any problems. Will it be almost as compatible as the 4-in-1 3D Glasses that can take any stereo signal? 3-in-1 is good enough, but it's always nice with extras. Split tracker so that anotherone can be used? Any chance of speeding up development? Can you at least tell if it's availalbe before Q2-02 if no unforseen consequences appear? (Halflife language). I got the joke, but others seem to be fed up with bad products and don't expect improvements in this market. A little too skeptical? Steven, the video can be converted to other formats, it not like there is a huge amount of stereo videos on the market. |

Let's see, I guess there are enough people out there that have already seen pics of the thing so the cat is probably out of the bag. We have some new ideas for this HMD, some of which I am not at liberty to discuss, but in general terms it has many of the features you are looking for at a price that I think you will all be able to afford. Some of you never seemed to understand, that WE want the same HMD as you have been waiting for, if the technology was there, don't you think someone would have made it? It actually makes me crazy when I hear about some of you are going to build one at home and you actually think you can do it cheaper and better then a company full of engineers with a combined total of 115 years of consumer electronics experience. OK, I'm better now off my soapbox. Anyway, I can say that we are developing an HMD that will work with the xbox, called the x-viewer. A PC will version will launch at the same time or very soon after. We feel that it has to be at least SVGA, at least a 35 FOV, lightweight, USB, Stereo, HI-FI Sound, under $599 with tracking. Did I miss anything? No release date. BTW way, anyone interested in a VFX3D at a much reduced price should e-mail me for information. Stephen_glaser@iisvr.com |

Just ignore them, probably the competiton trying their best to bash on you... Any link to the pics Steve mnetioned (3 posts up) of the X-viewer? People, keep your minds open and stop with the assaults on unreleased products. We didn't ask for your opinion and it's not worth anything, judgements on vaporware are useless, stop wasting bandwidth. Wait until the product is out with specs and tested before commenting on the quality/performance. Steve, looks like you are early in the design cycle, still no frozen specs, just requirements, it's at least a year away? Why rush the XBox version? It will take time for the systems to get out around the world and there is a small chance that it will flop and/or take a long time to get accepted. To even get the same gamer coverage as the PC crowd will take a year, and then there are those PC users that wanna use it for other stuff than games. Focus on the largest market first! |

What don't kill ya makes you stronger right? Let him blow off some steam, it just shows you that there are some people that took away a negative experience with the product. Use it, well, what you can get out of it anyway, to enthuse yourself to make a kick ass product that will blow them away. You can't please everybody but that doesn't mean don't try to. I think it's great to have a place where you can communicate with someone in a company and definitely appreciate those company people that come here and talk with us outsiders. Kudos to you Steve and thanks for the info. And I'm not just brown nosing 'cause I want a cheap vfx3d! Oh yeah, one question, sort of, so the xbox and pc versions are two different units and there isn't one 'universal' can bring home the bacon fry it up in the pan version? Oh well... it is still something I look very forward to. |

Thanks all. The reason for the different versions is that the xbox has a different hardware interface, for all peripherals not just ours. The specs are pretty well set in stone at this point, the displays are still up in the air. Have you guys seen our new wireless browser product? Not a 3D device but pretty cool none the less. www.iisvr.com/wireless.html Stephen_glaser@iisvr.com \image |
