This is basically what I did to get my Geforce 2 MX and VFX1 to work. By the way I take no responsibility for what happens. But don't worry this is a pretty straight forward process

What I used:
Geforce 2 MX with TV/out
S3 Trio 64+
Hauppage WinTV
2 PC's; One Pentium120 and an Athlon 650
VFX1 and the junk it comes with.

Connecting everything Together:
To start I put the S3 Trio, Hauppage WinTV, and the VIP Card in the Pentium120. And the Geforce in the Athlon. Then I linked the S3 Trio and the VIP Card using the feature connector. Then you can connect the helmet if you want. Now on the Athlon side I connected the TV-Out connector on the Geforce 2 MX to the Hauppage WinTV using the S-Video to RCA cable it came with. Set the resolution on the Athlon and Pentium to 640x480. On the Pentium Side the color depth should be set to 256. Ok, now set the Geforce to output on the TV-Out. Once that is done goto to the Pentium and start the WinTV2000 application and set the input to VID. After that, Press Ctrl-T to fullscreen the video input. If all went well you should now see the desktop of the athlon on the VFX1. I also enabled FSAA to make the picture look better in the helmet. As for tracking, well im still working on that.

NOTE: This process could probably be repeated using other cards.

That's a simple way to do it, too bad nobody thought of that b4...
As for tracking, how about a second VIP card in the Athlon. You would have to hack the cable, though.
Of course getting an affordable tracker would be the best way to go. But affordable trackers (for consumers) don't exist.

Hey ZoneLogic ,i did same with geforce and bt878 tv card
had lots of fun getting the coulors right in overlay.

as 4 head tracker. i thought it may be possible 2 put the vip card in my main comp(gforce)
and run vip cable across to my other
machine(S3trio64+).
i tried this and have headtracking+puck working
but the image in vfx1 has probs with colour loss
(evrythings grey n im not shure why)
if u r game u could try u may get a better video result than i did as im not wholy convinced this wont work
