Some years ago I bought 3D Theater from Razor3D, which worked very well. I collected quite a few 3D discs which worked fine with 3D Theater. Then came HDTV and flat screen television sets. Since 3D Theater's shutter glasses, PC Connector and Sync Box only worked with a Cathode Ray Tube TV, I had to give up my 3D if I wanted HDTV. Now, is that still true? Will Razor3D's current products work with my HDTV LED TV set? Can I somehow convert my 3D Theater components to work with a flat screen LED HDTV? I really miss watching my 3D discs. Can anyone tell me how I can begin doing that again? | ||

I have some of the old field sequential DVD's too. You can find 'Blu Ray 3D' for most tibles at this point in time. DVD Fab 3D can convert the field-sequential 3D DVD's to other formats (files) that will play on a HDTV LED TV. There are still 10 year old HD TV's that are true cathode ray tube based. Actually, I think you can find DLP TV's that also are field based. These would also work. | ||

Hi Larry, When I first got into HDTV I bought a Toshiba 30HF66 widescreen cathode ray tube HDTV instead of a Plasma or LCD TV, thinking I could use my field-sequential glasses to view my 3D DVD's. WRONG! For some technical reason my sync box would not work with that TV. I use to use DVD Fab to copy movies, but had too many problems with it. I will look into DVD Fab again to see if I can do as you suggest. Please make any other suggestions you can think of. | ||

You cannot use a 'progressive scan' HD TV in progressive mode. It would have to be in interlace mode. Most HD TV's (except the very earliest models) default to progressive mode. | ||

I'm not sure which HDTV's are interlaced only. I found an old RCA that was, 1080i, no 720p and no 480p support. I never tried it, but it should work. 1080i has A and B fields like 480i. Again, I have NOT done this with that TV. |
