Folks,
Some of my new games require DirectX 8
(Summoner from Outrage for example) and
my question is does anyone have any luck
upgrading to Directx 8 and still able to
use Asus driver and glasses ? Thanks.

You shouldn't have any problems with Summoner as I have been playing it successfully with the generic REVELATOR driver in 3D with no problem.

I wish it was the case for me. Asus driver
apparently has not been updated for a while
(I do not have a Revelator setup) what
I have is a Asus7700 Deluxe (GeForce2 based)
video card that come with their own shutter
glasses and driver which has been lagging
with the DirectX thing. I just wonder if I
update my DirectX 7 now to DirectX8, will
my Asus driver still work ?

You should not have any problems. I have upgraded to DX8 and my glasses still work fine on games that worked before the upgrade.

Question for you though: which Asus driver are you using. I have only had 5.18rc2 work correctly/reliably for me.

I used to use 5.33a but just downloaded the
new 6.31c driver from Asus page. This new
driver is better. It allows my two games
WW2F and USAF to play in their stereo splendor !!
Thanks to Asus. They are slow but they do
provide support on their driver.

It should be OK because I have the same card using driver v5.33 then updated directX to dx8 and there was no problem at all. Looks like I have to check out the new 6.31 driver from Asus though. I'm certainly not complaining about the stereoscopy from this card, it's not fantastic but I think that's due to the 1996 d.e.c. monitor that I have.
