I have. You may have too, believe it or not.

Visette HMD's are used exclusively by Virtuality. So if you ever played a round of Dactyl Nightmare, Exorex, or any other VR game at an arcade or theme park, you have used a Visette before.

The pros are the high end model of Visette. I have used the original, CRT-based Visettes as well as the newer Hi-res LCD models. They all work great, are rugged enough for consumer and industrial applications and have incredible head-tracking systems. If you have the money to buy one, Visettes are the most reliable HMD's out there.

Hi Eric,

Do they still use the Polhemus Inside Trak 6DOF Tracker? I'm almost certain they did at one point since we wrote some drivers for it (inside trak) for some old school games like Rise of the Triad and Duke Nukem 3D. I'm pretty sure we have the driver for DukeNukem 3D still so if anyone has an Inside Trak and needs a nice game driver please let me know? The tracking was super smooth and very flexible to config.

Thank you for your information. But I realy need the answer to the question - Does it support stereo ? Does it support both interlaced (making internal line-blanking) and
HW page flipped stereo output from the PC ?
What is the image quality in comparion to VFX3D
(the declared display technology + pixel number
is identical for both devices) ?

Far as I know, you need two seperate video sources to use a visette pro.

The resolution is better than a VFX3D, but the software support is limited. it's more of a developer's HMD system.

The Visette Pro is stereoscopic, it requires to separate VGA signals and supports a resolution of 640 x 480. The field of View is 60 degrees (horizontal).
It is still available with the Polhemus InsideTrak but we can also integrate other precision trackers. At the moment we do a lot with Ascension's Flock of Birds.
Cybermind acquired the rights for the Visette Pro from Virtuality in 1997 and it is now a Cybermind product. For more information see our website: http://www.cybermind.nl
