The holy grail of HMD's, of course, have revolved around the idea of a tiny SFF PC that you can carry around in your pocket. Apple is now selling a powerful 1.25+GHz G4 computer with a ATI Radeon 9200 and a DVD player for $499, that should fit in most coat pockets: http://www.apple.com/macmini/ As far as I know, there is nothing like this in the IBM clone world (there's the Cappaccino line, but specs and price don't really compare). The problem is the lack of 3D applications in the Apple world. Do you think this will change that? Do you think that Dell with respond with a similar product in the same price range and when? Combine this with an HMD and a thin power supply and a Scott eVest (http://www.scottevest.com/index.shtml) and you could be lovin' life. |
