Hi All

Some days ago - on the old board - I asked for some suitable strategy games for stereoscopic viewing. Generally, the games (Earth2150, BattleFront etc.) looks really good in stereo.

However, one game stands out: Homeworld Cataclysm (Demo). Here, stereoscopy gives the player a great advantage. Getting an overview of the ships in three dimensional space is way easier with stereo view. You don't have to circle your view around the ships to get an idea of their position. And the gameplay itself looks fantastic.

I've got some screenshots at:
http://stereoscopy.cti.dtu.dk/
...there's also some pics of of me and some colleagues setting up the screen in our stereoscopic cinema, btw.

My DepthCharge viewer will only show 256 colors (guess its windows2000's fault), so I can't say if the screenshots do the game justice. Have a look all the same.

Btw, the game didn't look that well with the ASUS driver. Same problem as I've had in Tomb Raider: The whole picture is "behind" the screen, but there's no depth apart from that. The revelator driver works, if dyna-z-buffer (or whatever it's called) is activated. Don't know how to fix it in the ASUS driver - If anyone knows, I'd like to hear from you.

There's one tiny flaw in the stereo functionality: Distant stars are monoscopic and thus seem to be placed on same depth as the screen surface - which usually will be in front of the ships. But I can live with that.

The game shoul be released in North America by now. Guess it'll reach Europe some day soon. I'll buy it, that's for sure.

Alex
