You could try Edmund Scientific (http://www.edmundscientific.com/). I've been getting their print catalog for years -- it's a must for any optics hobbyist.

Gee... I just looked at their product/pricing matrix, and the 25 x 25 inch fresnel is $170 US. Yuk! Maybe you could find a cheaper one, like for recreational use, like the kind that goes in the back window of a Winabago...

My local library sells them (about a4 size) for a few pounds each. These are non-rigid, intended to magnify book pages.

I have many 7 X 10 inch HIGH INTENSITY ultra-thin fresnel lenses in stock for building this 100 inch tv for only 10 bucks! I supply much of CANADA and the US. I also will throw in the plans at no extra charge!
Don't listen to all the rumours about the 100 inch tv. IT DOES WORK, even if picture quality is not perfect...for 10 dollars (plus $15 in supplies you have at home already) is one heckuva deal! Just turn up the brightness on your TV and turn down the lights. Me and some friends are looking for ways to improve this projector to make it INCREDIBLE! Write me if you have anythign to submit! This website is a good place to go to order the fresnel/plans - www.100inchbigscreen.com - Have a great day!

I made the T.V. projector with my monitor. it didnt work worth a flip. Although I must say that the Fresnel boxed in and placed in front of my monitor was very cool indeed. Bigger screen (19" to about 25") and added depth.

Is there a difference between fresnel lenses and regular screen magnifyers when it comes to image quality?

Yes DO check it out! I have bought one and I am very happy with the result, and no I´m not from Icetec.
Both the quality and the shipping was to my satisfaction. My setup in the fresnel and shutters, very nice result indeed.

Just build a fresnel setup yourself. I've found a very good quality lens from 3dlens: http://www.3dlens.com

(edited by board-admin, 3d-lens asked me to update the link, nothing else changed - Christoph)

Look for the F550 lens as it is perfect for large monitors and has a good focal length (550mm). the company is overseas but they are very professional and i recieved my order sooner than expected.

The icetec lens is probably better quality but if they are having trouble getting their kits out then just make one yourself w/ some cardboard, black paint, hot glue gun, and the lens.

large fresnel on a 19" CRT w/ 1280x1024 @ 120hz and shutter glasses is pretty fun.
