Are all the optics the same on both HMDs? Feature-wise, is the only difference the head tracker on the VFX3D? Is there a comparison available done by someone who has used or owned both units?

Thanks.

P.S. Spiffy new board. :)

The optics are the same but the VFX3D has the additional feature of being able to display games and apps in stereoscopic 3D with the push of a button.

It also supports up to 1600x1200 with the built-in scan converter. Plus, it can also accept an NTSC video signal thru the tracking box. Or a PAL signal with something like the V-box.

It also has the built-in tracking with customisable tracking and controls for all DirectInput games with the new 2.0 drivers.

Just some notes:

>>>being able to display games and apps in stereoscopic 3D with the push of a button

It can't create stereo of course. It uses the serial port to tell the driver to go into stereo mode.

>>>supports up to 1600x1200

Yes, but not recommended. The standard resolution (640*480) gives the best image quality.
