About four years go I bought a pair of Eye3D premium glasses, and downloaded WinX3D and purchased the 3D-Pix program that was developed using those drivers.

It was a great combination that I finally got running stabily on Windows 98 and a GeForce2. I still have that machine, and all it does is stereo. I was never able to get it running on 2000 or XP, even with the very last version released publicly, which was puported to support it.

I'd like to do away with my 98 system and get some page flipped stereo running on my main PC.

So my questions are -

Are there any drivers I can use for Page flipping on WinXP that is compatable with my Eye3D Premium glasses, or will I have to buy a new set?

What solution offers a program like 3D-Pix that will allow me to easily adjust the convergence and preview the images page flipped full screen? (auto sizing them to fit the screen on the fly) I am working with print resolution images that I eventually intend to output to another type of viewing system.

I also want to edit 3D video using Iridas' FrameCycler 3D (I was an early consultant on the project) which is "compatable with all windowed OpenGL stereo mode capable graphics adapters and shutter glasses such as the Stereographics Crystal Eyes."

An ideal solution would be one setup that could do all of that. Right now I have a GeForce graphics card, but am open to switching to a Radeon if that will work better.

Some answers:

1) Forgent any Radeon or anothe ATI product

2) Install nVidia consumer stereoscopic drivers (you will find them on nVidia WWW) - you will be able to run games in stereo and use several still image + stereo video program -see News section of this WWW

3) If you want to use OpenGl stereo mode you must
do some of the folowing things:
a) Buy Quadro graphic card
b) Crack GeForce to Quadro (problematic + ilegal)
c) Buy More3D drivers (more expensive than Quadro, but thay can do several other things)

4) If you are realy interested in stereo video problemematic on proffesional level - let me know. I am a developer of profesional DepthQ stereo video software server software - it has several futures superieor to FrameCycler 3D ...

Based on MH's input, I was looking at the Quadro cards for OpenGL stereo, and it seems the Nvidia Quadro4 750 XGL would probably be the best thing for me to dip my feet in it. I think a lot of the people selling them mistake the 3-pin DIN shutterglasses connector for an S-Video out. It's branded as such on auctions, but the way Nvidia's marketing brochures are written seems to indicate that the stereo connector is always present in the different branded versions of the 750, so I shouldn't have to worry about which one to buy?

Mike: I think all Quadro 750 XGL have the connector. Quadro 750 XGL is a good choice as long as you do not need advanced GPU futures (higer level of pixel shaders especialiy). This can produce problems with new games + slow down latest Maya and 3DMax release . In this case some Quadro FX should be used ....
