If anyone is going to the SID show at the Seattle Convention Center next week (May 25-27th) you might want to check out the 3D displays. Sharp, Sanyo, DTI, and SeeReal will have displays in the 3D Consortium booth. The Phillips display mentioned in the thread below will be in their own booth. Lightspace Technologies says they will be at SID with their volumetric display, apparently in someone else's booth. Kodak is listed as an exhibitor, so they might have their new display there too.

you go to these shows...see these autostereoscopic displays. some look ok. but when you ask about buying one there reps go into shock. what you want to buy one, what are you going to do with it??? the only one that you can buy is the DTI and that has a very small 3d sweet spot. a $25 dollar pair of shutter glasses give a better 3d view. DDDs autostereoscopic monitor is a joke. they had one up and running a National Geographic in DC, a while back ,the 3d effect was, very ,very poor. Sanyo's 40 inch 3DLCD monitor autostereo, looks ok but i have never got one of there reps to give me a price on one. very hush ,hush guys. the Sharp system is only ok small 3d sweet spot. i understand X3D has a autostereo LCD comming out with there 2d-3d conversion chip in it but they wount answer any questions as of now. so until they announce a consumer product its all just vapor were???
