Does anyone knows if MS flight simulator can work in 3D. According to what I read on the Nvidia web site, if a game (or any other software) uses open GL the 3D driver can create the two images for page flipping because the open GL info is a highe level language. So you can get 3D even if the game is not prepared for this.

If it doesn't work (MS FS not in open GL) is there a flight simulator that does work in 3D

Yes, it does work in 'stereo'.
(these days, '3D' mainly refers to modelling software such as Bryce,PovRay,etc).

See the following, which on dial-up is VERY slow to load :-

http://www.wow3d.net/main-e.html

It mentions 'Flight Simulator 2004'.

The NVidia stereo games-driver also intercepts Direct3D calls (as well as OpenGL).

FS 2004 works in 3d, and it doesn't.
I have nVidia and the hotkey clicks on FS 2004 stereo 3d. As long as you fly nice and straight.
If you turn, the stereo 3d "falls apart", there is some weird separation of the left and right eye picture which kills stereo 3d. If you turn back level flight, it is back again in 3d. But even that 3d is not very good. I couldn't figure out what to do/how to fix it. Perhaps Chris would know.

I have 2002 which works in stereo very well. It even works with fsaa and ansio on. I don't know what advancements were made with 2004 but I don't think my ti4400 would take advantage of them anyway.

I have displayed the MS FS 2002 with two projectors on a large screen with More3D stereo driver. Worked well.

If one "Eye" frezzez up in 2004 when in stereo mode, check that FSAA isn't activated.
