On the the nVidia page where you downloaded the driver you will also find PDF documents with extensive documentation on the the stereo functions.

Thank you Christoph, but ( and yes this is another cry for help) i have read that and actually it is no help (i know im stupid).

If i could try to explain real quick... When i first went to their site (well not the first time ever, but anyway...)i clicked on, "download drivers."

Three boxes appeared the last two were blank, the first one said several things, the only thing i was interested in (and still is) consumer 3D stereo. after clicking on that, the second box says all graphics cards, after that the third box says windows XP/2000 (i have XP).

So i download the first driver that it lists, which says primary download site. after all that was installed and my computer was restarted i went to check my system properties, and none of the nvidia menus(sp?) were like the ones i saw in the PDF, so i wrote here.

after you responded i thought for sure i missed something totally retarded. Well i did miss something totally retarded. Under all the mirror sites it says "45.23 3D Stereo driver requires 45.23 display drivers to run. Please download those here". well due to my dial up i waited for a while, and out of boredom, moving my mouse around i discoverd that the bold faced lettering several lines below was a link to different downloads ( I thought it was some kind of identifier for the drivers i was downloading, due to the fact that every other link on their site ,like any other, has their links underlined). I appologize for rambling.

So i downloade those, installed and restarted my computer. After all that i finally got the menus with all the things the pdf has. I went through all the easy set up steps super easy but the medical test dosent display, the little nvidia sign never looks 3D, (and ive tyrd this in mode 1 and 2 of my i-glasses). stereo wont turn on in my games if enabled or set to hot key.

if any of this sounds familiar or, if im doing something stupid please please help id greatly appreciate it.

thank you .

Also ive lurked around here or a while and have always heard of detonators. i relize ihink) that u need them to run the stereo 3d but i cant find any kind of download on nvidias site thats called a detonator. and im not sure if either of the two things i downloaded that i listed above are called or considered detonators. i do know that when i was downloading from their site neither were called that, but like i said earlier im either retared or just completely clueless.

nVidia called their standard VGA-graphics-drivers 'Detonator' for a long time - since their TNT-graphics chip line. They were recently renamed to 'ForceWare' since the latest chip designs are called GeForce and nForce.

The medical test often doesn't work for me either. This test uses some low res mode, just forget it. Just try a game and try the stereo on/off hotkey.
